Tickmill asks for a $100 minimum deposit on every account. The Raw account prices forex from 0.0 pips plus a $3 commission per lot per side, while the Classic account builds its cost into a spread that starts at 1.6 pips. Tickmill is licensed by the FCA in the UK (717270), CySEC in Cyprus (278/15), the FSCA in South Africa (FSP 49464) and the FSA in Seychelles (SD008), with a DFSA-regulated representative office in Dubai. Clients of the Seychelles entity can use leverage up to 1:1000.

Tickmill is a low-cost, no-frills broker with real regulation behind it. The UK arm answers to the Financial Conduct Authority, the EU arm to CySEC, and the South African arm to the FSCA, so the group sits in the stricter half of the brokers we cover. Most traders outside those regions are onboarded by Tickmill Ltd in Seychelles, which is where the 1:1000 leverage and the $30 Welcome Account live.
Costs are the main reason people pick it. On the Raw account you pay the market spread plus $3 per lot per side, so a round trip on one lot of EUR/USD costs $6 in commission on top of a spread that often sits near zero. That is in line with the cheapest raw-pricing brokers we have reviewed, and it comes without the gimmicks some high-leverage brands use to attract deposits.
The trade-offs are just as clear. There is no deposit bonus on the Seychelles entity beyond the small Welcome Account, the product list is narrower than at brokers offering thousands of share CFDs, and support is a mix of a 24/7 chatbot and human agents who work 24/5. Indian readers should also note that the Reserve Bank of India lists Tickmill on its alert list of unauthorised forex platforms.
Best for: scalpers, EA users and day traders who want raw spreads, a $100 entry point and a regulated group.
Not ideal for: bonus hunters, traders in India, and anyone who wants a large catalogue of real shares.
Here is how Tickmill stacks up once the marketing is stripped away.
Tickmill is not one company but a group of licensed firms, and which one holds your account decides how much protection you get. The table lists every entity on Tickmill's own licences page, with the number you can check in each regulator's public register.
| Entity | Regulator | Licence | Who it serves |
| Tickmill UK Ltd | Financial Conduct Authority (UK) | FRN 717270 | UK clients |
| Tickmill Europe Ltd | Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission | 278/15 | EU clients |
| Tickmill South Africa (Pty) Ltd | Financial Sector Conduct Authority | FSP 49464 | South African clients |
| Tickmill Ltd | Financial Services Authority (Seychelles) | SD008 | Most international clients |
| Tickmill UK Ltd (representative office) | Dubai Financial Services Authority | F007663 | Representative office in the DIFC |
UK clients are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme up to £120,000 per person if the firm fails. EU clients fall under the Investor Compensation Fund, which pays 90% of an eligible claim up to €20,000. Those schemes do not reach clients of the Seychelles company, which is why the entity matters more than the brand name on the website.
Every Tickmill account keeps client money in segregated accounts with tier-1 banks, apart from the company's own funds. Tickmill also says client funds are insured through Lloyd's of London, with cover from $20,000 to $1,000,000 per client if the firm becomes insolvent, and it applies negative balance protection, so a sharp gap cannot leave you owing money.
India's central bank keeps a public alert list of firms that are not authorised to deal in forex or run forex trading platforms for Indian residents. The version updated on 19 November 2025 names Tickmill (tickmill.com) at entry 38. That listing is about Indian law, not about whether Tickmill pays withdrawals, but it means Indian residents trading through it fall outside what the RBI allows. Our guide on whether forex is legal in India explains the rules in plain terms.
Our view: Tickmill's UK and EU arms are among the better-regulated retail brokers we track. If you are signed up with Tickmill Ltd in Seychelles, the licence is lighter, so keep balances modest and withdraw profits regularly. You can compare regulator tiers on our forex regulators page.
Tickmill keeps the line-up short. Every account uses the same execution and allows the same strategies; the only real difference is how you pay for trades.

A swap-free Islamic option is available on every account type for eligible clients. Futures accounts, offered through Tickmill UK Ltd, need a $1,000 minimum deposit and sit outside the CFD accounts above. A free demo account mirrors live conditions so you can test a strategy before funding.
For most active traders the Raw account is the cheaper option. One lot of EUR/USD on Classic costs at least 1.6 pips, or $16, because the commission sits inside the spread. On Raw the same trade costs the live spread plus $6 round turn, so even with a 0.2-pip spread you pay about $8. The gap widens the more you trade.
Classic suits two kinds of trader: beginners who want to see one all-in number on the chart, and people who trade a handful of times a month and value simplicity over a few dollars. TradingView Raw makes sense only if TradingView is your main charting tool, because its commission is $0.50 higher per side and it does not run expert advisors.
| Your style | Best account | Why |
| Scalping or high volume | Raw | Lowest cost per lot; EAs and scalping allowed |
| Swing trading a few times a month | Classic or Raw | Cost difference is small at low volume |
| Charting on TradingView | TradingView Raw | Trade straight from TradingView charts |
| Automated trading on MT4/MT5 | Raw | Full EA support, VPS discount |
| Islamic finance rules | Any, with swap-free option | Swap-free available on all types |
Opening a Tickmill account is fully online, and Tickmill uses automated onboarding and ID checks. Most international traders are onboarded by Tickmill Ltd in Seychelles, while UK, EU and South African residents join their local Tickmill company.
Enter your name, country, email and phone number on the sign-up page, then confirm your email address.
Upload a passport or national ID and a recent proof of address in the Client Area.
Tickmill asks about your trading experience and knowledge to judge whether CFDs suit you. Honest answers matter here, because the check is a regulatory requirement.
Choose Classic, Raw or TradingView Raw, then your platform, base currency and leverage.
Deposit at least $100 into your Tickmill wallet. Tickmill charges no deposit fee.
Log in to MT4, MT5, TradingView or the Tickmill Trader app with the credentials Tickmill sends you.
Tickmill's pricing is easy to follow. Classic has no commission and spreads from 1.6 pips. Raw and TradingView Raw start at 0.0 pips and add a fixed commission per lot per side: $3 on Raw and $3.5 on TradingView Raw.
Here is what one standard lot of EUR/USD costs on each account, assuming a 0.1-pip raw spread at a quiet moment. Spreads move with the market, so treat these as examples rather than quotes.
| Account | Spread cost | Commission (round turn) | Total for 1 lot |
| Classic | 1.6 pips = $16 | $0 | About $16 |
| Raw | 0.1 pips = $1 | $6 | About $7 |
| TradingView Raw | 0.1 pips = $1 | $7 | About $8 |
Index CFDs, crypto and oil on the Tickmill Trader platform carry no commission, according to Tickmill. Overnight positions pay or earn a swap, except on swap-free accounts and the first five days of crypto positions on MT4 and MT5. Use our pip calculator to turn a spread into dollars before you trade.
Tickmill does not charge for deposits or withdrawals. Banks, card schemes and e-wallets can still take their own cut, and Tickmill points out that intermediary bank charges are outside its control.
For large bank deposits there is a Zero Fees Policy: on a single wire of $5,000 or more, Tickmill refunds the bank's transfer fee up to $100 if you email proof within a month. Payments are processed in EUR, GBP, ZAR and USD, so funding from another currency means a conversion by your bank.
The one fee to watch is inactivity. Tickmill reserves the right to charge an inactivity fee under its Terms and Conditions when an account goes without trading, so check the current terms and close or empty accounts you no longer use.
Maximum leverage depends on the entity. Clients of Tickmill Ltd in Seychelles can choose up to 1:1000 on forex and gold. FCA and CySEC clients are capped by law at 1:30 on major currency pairs, and lower on other products.
On MT5 and Tickmill Trader, leverage is dynamic: it falls as your position grows. Tickmill publishes the tiers below for forex and gold.
| Forex lots | Gold lots | Margin | Max leverage |
| 0 to 2 | 0 to 1 | 0.1% | 1:1000 |
| 2.01 to 200 | 1.01 to 50 | 0.2% | 1:500 |
| 200.01 to 400 | 50.1 to 100 | 1.0% | 1:100 |
| 400.01+ | 100.01+ | 10% | 1:10 |
Other products have their own ceilings: up to 1:200 on crypto, 1:100 on stock indices and 1:20 on stocks and ETFs. High leverage only changes how much margin a trade ties up. It does not make a losing trade smaller, so size positions from your stop loss, not from the leverage on offer. Our margin calculator shows the numbers for any lot size.
Tickmill offers more than 600 CFDs. That is enough for most forex and gold traders, though well short of brokers that list thousands of shares.
| Market | What you get | Max leverage (Seychelles) |
| Forex | 60+ currency pairs | 1:1000 |
| Commodities | Gold, oil, cocoa, natural gas and more | 1:1000 (gold) |
| Stock indices | Nasdaq, S&P 500, Dow Jones, DAX and others | 1:100 |
| Cryptocurrencies | Bitcoin, Ethereum and others, traded 24/7 | 1:200 |
| Stocks and ETFs | US and global names such as Apple, Tesla, Nvidia | 1:20 |
| Bonds | Government bond CFDs | Varies |
Futures and options are available, but only through Tickmill UK Ltd, so most international clients will not see them.
You can trade on four platforms. MT4 and MT5 run the Classic and Raw accounts; TradingView and Tickmill's own Tickmill Trader run the TradingView Raw account.
Tickmill adds a free Advanced Trading Toolkit for MT4 and MT5, with Sentiment Trader, Figaro market data, an alarm manager and a trade terminal. Acuity's news-sentiment tool and Signal Centre, which sends trade ideas with preset stop and target levels, are also free in the Client Area. Clients get a 20% discount on BeeksFX VPS hosting for running EAs around the clock.
Trade enough on a Tickmill TradingView account and the paid TradingView plan is on Tickmill: 3 lots a month unlocks Essential, 5 lots unlocks Plus and 12 lots unlocks Premium. The offer covers FX, metals, BTC, US30, DE40 and USTEC volume and is open only to traders without an active paid TradingView plan.
The Tickmill Trader app for iOS and Android covers 100+ CFDs with 60+ indicators, custom watchlists and biometric login. It runs the same TradingView Raw account as the web platform, so you can switch between phone and desktop without a second login.
If you trade on MT4 or MT5, the standard MetaTrader apps connect to your Classic or Raw account instead.
Tickmill Social Trading lets you copy other clients or publish your own strategy. Followers browse strategy providers, check their trading history and rating, and copy them automatically. Providers set their own performance fee and are paid by followers who profit.
Copying someone else does not remove the risk, it only hands the decisions to them. Start with a small allocation, read the provider's drawdown, not just the return, and stop copying if the style changes.
Funding happens through the Tickmill wallet in the Client Area. Methods depend on your country, but the main ones are below.
| Method | Min. deposit | Deposit time | Withdrawal processing |
| Bank wire | 100 | Within 1 working day (2 to 7 days to arrive) | Within 1 working day (2 to 7 days to arrive) |
| Visa / Mastercard | 100 | Instant | Within 1 working day |
| Skrill / Neteller | 100 | Instant | Within 1 working day (about 12 to 48 hours) |
| Crypto | Varies | Instant | Within 1 working day |
| UnionPay / local methods | Varies by country | Varies | Varies |
The minimum withdrawal is 25 in your wallet currency and Tickmill charges no withdrawal fee. Money goes out in the base currency of your wallet, so a USD wallet pays out in USD. You need a verified account, and withdrawals normally return to the method you used to deposit.
Faiza, 31, a part-time trader in Karachi, is our illustrative example. She deposits $300 by card, trades the Raw account for a month and asks for $180 back. Tickmill processes it within one working day; how fast it reaches her card then depends on her bank. Sending profits back to the card first, and any surplus by bank wire later, avoids most delays.
Tickmill keeps promotions modest, and most run only through Tickmill Ltd in Seychelles.
There is no percentage deposit bonus. That is not a weakness: deposit bonuses usually come with volume targets that make the money hard to withdraw. Our deposit bonus guide explains what to check before accepting one.
Tickmill's education section covers webinars, seminars, video tutorials, ebooks and a forex glossary, plus its own show for traders. Daily market outlooks and price-target notes appear on the Tickmill blog.
The research is solid for an execution-focused broker, but it is not a structured course. Pair it with a demo account and a written trading plan if you are new; our forex learning hub covers the basics step by step.
Tickmill's human support team works 24/5. Outside those hours, a chatbot called Millie answers questions 24/7. Phone support runs Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 16:00 GMT, and email replies arrive within 24 hours on business days.
The chatbot handles common questions about deposits and account setup well; anything about a stuck withdrawal or a disputed trade needs a human, so email support with your account number and transaction details.
Tickmill says it fills 99.9% of orders and runs every account on the same execution, so moving from Classic to Raw changes your costs, not your fills. Scalping, hedging and automated strategies are allowed on all accounts, which is not true at every low-cost broker.
Margin works on a simple formula that Tickmill publishes: lot size times contract size times price, divided by leverage. One lot of gold at $2,355 on 1:1000 needs about $236 of margin. Under dynamic leverage, a second lot moves into the 1:500 tier and needs about $471 more, so margin rises faster than position size once you go past the first tier.
Leverage ratios can also be cut around volatile market conditions, so a strategy that relies on maximum leverage at news time is fragile by design. Keep spare margin in the account and set stops on every position.
Here is a worked example for a trader who places 40 trades a month at 0.5 lots each on EUR/USD, a fairly typical pace for a part-time day trader. That is 20 lots in total.
| Cost item | Classic | Raw |
| Spread (example) | 1.6 pips x $10 x 20 lots = $320 | 0.1 pips x $10 x 20 lots = $20 |
| Commission | $0 | $6 x 20 lots = $120 |
| Monthly total | About $320 | About $140 |
On these assumptions Raw saves around $180 a month, which is more than many small accounts make. Classic only wins for very occasional traders who would rather not track commissions. If you trade on TradingView, add $1 per round-turn lot for the higher $3.5 commission.
Tickmill is fine for beginners, though it is not built around them. The $100 minimum, the free demo account and the Welcome Account give new traders a low-risk way in, and the education library covers the basics.
What it lacks is hand-holding: there is no simplified beginner account, no cent account and no large library of structured courses. A new trader should start on a demo, move to a small Raw or Classic account with leverage well below the maximum, and risk no more than 1% of the balance on any trade. Our learning hub is a good companion while you practise.

*Offshore entity only. Pick Tickmill over XM if you want raw pricing and FCA oversight in the group and can start with $100. XM is easier for very small first deposits. See full head-to-heads on our broker comparison page.
Tickmill does the basics well. The Raw account is cheap, the $100 entry point is reasonable, scalping and EAs are welcome, and withdrawals carry no broker fee. Its FCA and CySEC licences are a real point in its favour, even if most international clients sit with the lighter Seychelles entity.
It is less suited to bonus seekers and to anyone who wants thousands of share CFDs, and Indian residents should take the RBI alert list seriously. For a forex or gold trader elsewhere who values low costs over extras, Tickmill is one of the better choices we have reviewed.
Tickmill is a licensed group: Tickmill UK Ltd is regulated by the FCA (717270), Tickmill Europe Ltd by CySEC (278/15), Tickmill South Africa by the FSCA (FSP 49464) and Tickmill Ltd by the FSA Seychelles (SD008). Client money is segregated and negative balance protection applies. Safety depends on which entity holds your account.
$100 on the Classic, Raw and TradingView Raw accounts. Futures accounts with Tickmill UK need $1,000. The amount can vary slightly with your base currency.
The Reserve Bank of India names Tickmill on its alert list of entities not authorised to deal in forex for Indian residents (updated 19 November 2025). Indian residents may only trade forex through authorised persons on recognised Indian exchanges.
The $30 Welcome Account is for new clients of Tickmill Ltd from non-restricted countries. You trade it for 60 days with Raw conditions. Profit between $30 and $100 can move to your wallet after you verify, deposit $100 and request the transfer. The $30 itself cannot be withdrawn.
Up to 1:1000 on forex and gold for clients of the Seychelles entity, falling as positions grow under dynamic leverage. FCA and CySEC clients are limited to 1:30 on major pairs.
Tickmill processes withdrawals within one working day. E-wallets usually arrive in about 12 to 48 hours, while bank wires can take 2 to 7 working days to land. Tickmill charges no withdrawal fee.
Yes. Scalping, hedging and expert advisors are allowed on Classic and Raw accounts on MT4 and MT5. The TradingView Raw account does not run EAs.
Yes. A swap-free Islamic option is available on all account types for eligible clients.
Tickmill was founded in 2014. Its UK company is based in London, its EU company in Limassol, Cyprus, and its main international company in Seychelles.
Yes, with a demo first. The $100 minimum and the Welcome Account make it easy to start, but there is no cent account or simplified beginner account, so keep leverage low and risk small.
