Tickmill Account Types: Classic vs Raw vs TradingView Raw
Tickmill offers three accounts with the same $100 entry and the same execution. Classic builds the cost into a spread from 1.6 pips. Raw charges $3 per side on spreads from 0.0. TradingView Raw costs $3.50 per side. Here is how they compare on real trades.
Tickmill keeps its range small. The Classic account has spreads from 1.6 pips and zero commission. Its Raw account has spreads from 0.0 pips and a commission of $3 per lot per side. TradingView Raw has the same raw spreads with a commission of $3.50 per side and works through TradingView and the Tickmill Trader platform.
All three start at a deposit of 100, trade from 0.01 lots and offer leverage up to 1:1000. Tickmill says the accounts share the same execution and strategy freedom, and that the difference comes down to how trading costs are charged. A swap-free Islamic option is available on every type for eligible clients.

What one lot costs on each
Use one standard lot of EUR/USD, where a pip is worth $10. Classic at its minimum spread costs about $16. Raw costs $6 in commission, plus the raw spread. TradingView Raw costs $7, plus the same raw spread.

| Account | Commission, round turn | Spread example | Total per lot |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | $0 | 1.6 pips = $16 | About $16 |
| Raw | $6 | 0.1 pip = $1 | About $7 |
| TradingView Raw | $7 | 0.1 pip = $1 | About $8 |
The 0.1-pip raw spread is our illustration; Tickmill's figure is from 0.0, and its spreads page shows live minimum and typical values per instrument. On these numbers Raw costs less than half of Classic. Raw stays cheaper until the raw spread reaches 1.0 pip, which on major pairs is unusual outside news and the daily rollover.
| Monthly volume | Classic | Raw | Saving on Raw |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 lot | $16 | $7 | $9 |
| 10 lots | $160 | $70 | $90 |
| 50 lots | $800 | $350 | $450 |
When Classic still makes sense
Classic has one clear benefit: no commission line to account for. Its page notes that Classic charts show the market and spreads without the mark-up, so the cost appears when your order is filled, not on the chart itself. Beginners who trade a few micro lots a month pay cents either way, and some prefer one all-in number.
Swap-free terms also differ. On Classic swap-free accounts, Tickmill says handling fees for gold, silver, yen crosses and several franc pairs start only from day 41. A Muslim trader who holds those instruments for weeks may find Classic the cheaper swap-free choice despite its wider spread.
Who should pick Raw
Almost anyone who trades regularly. Scalpers and day traders gain most, because a saving of about 0.9 pips per trade is a large part of a small target. Raw also has zero stop and limit levels, which means pending orders can sit as close to the market as you like. The Tickmill Raw account guide works through the numbers.
TradingView Raw, briefly
This account exists for people who want to place trades from TradingView charts. It costs 50 cents more per side than Raw, is held in US dollars only and doesn't run MetaTrader expert advisors. If TradingView isn't your main tool, the ordinary Raw account is cheaper. Our Tickmill TradingView guide covers the setup and the free subscription offer.
Features every account shares
- Automated strategies, hedging and scalping are allowed.
- Negative balance protection applies.
- Leverage goes up to 1:1000, with 1:500 the maximum on MT4.
- Margin call is at 100% and stop out at 50%.
- Client funds are held in segregated accounts.
- A swap-free Islamic version is available to eligible clients.
Tickmill lists 62 currency pairs along with CFDs on stocks, stock indices, oil, precious metals, bonds and cryptocurrencies. Product availability varies by platform; stocks and ETFs, for instance, are on MT5 and not on MT4.
Tickmill's margin call level of 100% is higher than at many offshore brokers. You are warned sooner, and stop out at 50% leaves more of your margin intact.
Other accounts you may see
Three more names appear on Tickmill's site. The demo account is free and mirrors live conditions. Its $30 Welcome Account is a small funded account for new clients of the Seychelles company. Futures accounts are offered through Tickmill UK Ltd with a far higher minimum and sit outside the CFD range described here.
How to choose
- New trader on micro lots who wants simplicity: Classic.
- Regular trader, scalper or EA user: Raw.
- Chart-first trader who lives in TradingView: TradingView Raw.
- Muslim trader holding gold or yen pairs for weeks: Classic swap-free.
- Undecided: Raw, since the entry deposit is the same and the costs are lower.
You can hold more than one account under the same Client Area and move money between them through your wallet. Open the account on a demo first if you want to compare, as the demo account guide explains.
Because every account costs the same to open, let your trading volume decide. Above roughly one standard lot a month, Raw pays for the small effort of counting commission.
Mistakes to avoid when choosing
One common error is to treat zero commission as zero cost. Classic simply collects its fee through the spread, and at 1.6 pips that fee is more than double the Raw account's commission on a typical trade. Read the total, not the label.
Another is to pick TradingView Raw for the charts without checking the limits. It is held in dollars only, costs more per side and won't run a MetaTrader expert advisor. Traders who later want automation end up opening a second account anyway.
A third is to forget that product lists differ by platform. Stock and ETF CFDs are on MT5. Someone who opens an MT4 account expecting to trade shares will not find them, whichever account type they chose.
Last, don't let the account decide your trade size. Both Classic and Raw allow 0.01 lots and both offer leverage up to 1:1000. Neither fact is a reason to trade bigger. Your risk per trade should be the same on either account, and the account type only changes what that trade costs.
Tickmill's line-up is one of the easiest to explain. Same deposit, same execution, three ways to pay. For a trader doing ten lots a month the Raw account saves about $90, and that is real money on a small account.
Aditya started on Classic with $300 and traded about 4 lots a month, paying roughly $64 in spread. He opened a Raw account in the same Client Area, moved his balance through the wallet and paid about $28 the following month for the same volume. Classic stayed open for his longer gold trades.
