How to Open a RoboForex Account: Members Area, Verification and Security

Everything at RoboForex runs through the Members Area, its client portal. You register a Members Area first, then open as many trading accounts as you need inside it, choosing platform, account type and settings each time. Verification of your identity and address is done in the Members Area too, and RoboForex's Help Center says it typically takes up to two days. You can trade before verification, but you can't withdraw: RoboForex's Client Agreement makes withdrawals available only to verified clients.

RoboForex also uses separate passwords for different parts of your account, which is worth understanding from day one.

Registering and opening an account

1. Register a Members Area with your name, email and phone number.
2. Go to the Real Account page in the first section of the Members Area.
3. Choose the platform (MT4, MT5 or R StocksTrader) and account type.
4. Set the currency, leverage and options such as swap-free, then click Confirm.
5. Note the trading account login and password RoboForex emails you.

Verification

RoboForex's complete verification has two parts. First, verify your identity with a valid passport or another identity document. Second, confirm your address with a proof of residence. Upload both through the forms in the Members Area, where the full list of acceptable documents is shown. You don't need a scanner: RoboForex accepts photos from a camera, webcam or phone, as long as all the details are clear.

Processing usually takes up to two days, and RoboForex emails you when your documents have been reviewed. Verifying your email and phone number as well unlocks the full list of payment systems for your region.

Passwords explained

Confusing these is the most common reason for an 'Invalid account' error in MetaTrader. You can change each one in the Members Area, confirmed by a code sent to your email.

Two-factor authentication

RoboForex supports two-factor authentication for logins, withdrawals and internal transfers, with codes sent by SMS to your verified phone or generated in a mobile app. Withdrawals also require your account password and confirmation codes. Switch 2FA on in the Members Area security settings as soon as your account is open.

Fixing registration mistakes

• Wrong name: submit your documents through verification, and the Members Area updates once they're processed.
• Incorrect phone number: verify the correct one on the Security Settings page.
• Lost access to your old verified phone: send your new number in international format through a ticket or to [email protected].
• Wrong email: change it on the My Profile page.

SMS codes not arriving

RoboForex says codes usually arrive within minutes but can take 10 to 15. If one doesn't arrive, check your phone is on and has memory free, restart it, and tap Send SMS again. You can also choose an automatic phone call with the code, or enter a different number.

Opening a corporate account

Companies register a Members Area in the name of the person who will manage it, then email [email protected] with company documents: certificate of incorporation, registered address, directors and shareholders, memorandum and articles, a board resolution, a certificate of good standing and documents on the source of funds, plus ID for directors, shareholders, beneficial owners and signatories. Documents need a notarised English translation.

Where RoboForex doesn't operate

Choosing settings when you open

When you open a trading account, you choose its platform, type, currency, leverage and options such as swap-free. RoboForex doesn't let you change the type or currency later, and you can't reduce leverage while positions are open, so it pays to get these right at the start. If you're not sure, a Pro account on MT4 in USD is RoboForex's most common set-up, and works with the most copy trading strategies.

You can open several accounts in one Members Area, so there's no need to force one account to do everything. Many traders keep a ProCent account for testing, a Pro or ECN account for their main trading, and an R StocksTrader account for shares, moving money between them through internal transfers.

Keeping your account safe

RoboForex protects withdrawals with several layers: you must log in to the Members Area, enter the trading account or wallet password, and confirm with a code sent by email, SMS or a mobile app. It also uses SSL encryption for personal data. These layers only work if your own passwords are strong and unique, and if your email account is secure too.

Avoid saving passwords in shared browsers, and never send documents or passwords to anyone claiming to be RoboForex outside the Members Area or official email.

Once verified, keep your documents current. If you move house or change your name, update them through the Members Area so future withdrawals aren't delayed by mismatched details.
