The Exness Standard Cent account, from its Help Center.

The Exness Standard Cent account is the only Exness account that uses cent lots instead of standard lots. Exness's Help Center explains that 1 cent lot equals 100,000 cents, or $1,000, which is 0.01 of a standard lot, and that your balance is shown in cents: deposit $5 and the account shows 500 USC. It suits beginners and anyone testing a strategy with real money at a very small size.

The account has no commission, market execution and up to unlimited leverage for eligible accounts, but a narrower range of instruments and no demo version.

How cent lots work

A cent account changes the unit, not the market. Prices move the same way as on any account; your positions are simply one hundred times smaller per lot than on a Standard account, and your balance and profit are shown in cents.

Trade on a Cent accountEquivalent on a Standard accountValue per pip on EUR/USD
1 cent lot0.01 lotAbout 10 cents
10 cent lots0.10 lotAbout $1
100 cent lots1 lotAbout $10

Every Cent instrument carries a 'c' suffix, such as EURUSDc. Exness advises checking the suffix first when comparing conditions, because it tells you which lot size and balance unit apply.

What you can trade

On the Cent account, Exness lists 26 currency pairs, including EURUSDc, GBPUSDc, USDJPYc, AUDUSDc and USDCADc, plus gold (XAUUSDc) and silver (XAGUSDc). Bitcoin (BTCUSDc) and Ethereum (ETHUSDc) are available on MT5 Cent accounts only. Stocks aren't offered, and of the indices, only US500, US30 and USTEC are available, on MT5 and the Exness platform.

Once you trade comfortably and want stocks or more markets, the Standard account is the next step. Our Exness account types guide compares all five.

Who the Cent account suits

  • Beginners moving from demo to real money in tiny steps.
  • Traders testing an EA or strategy live before scaling up.
  • Anyone who wants to feel real-money trading without large swings in the balance.

Small numbers don't mean small risk. With unlimited or very high leverage, a cent account can still be wiped out quickly; size every trade from your stop loss.

Opening a Cent account

  1. In the Personal Area, choose Open new account under My Accounts.
  2. Select Standard Cent and choose MT4 or MT5 (MT5 if you want crypto).
  3. Pick a cent currency, such as USC, and set leverage.
  4. Deposit and trade symbols with the 'c' suffix.

Cent account maths: a worked example

Say you deposit $50: the account shows 5,000 USC. A 10 cent lot trade on EUR/USD equals 0.10 of a standard lot, worth about $1, or 100 USC, per pip. On that trade, a 20-pip stop risks about $20, which is 40% of the balance. The small units make the numbers look harmless, but the risk as a share of the account is what counts.

Trade sizeValue per pipLoss on a 20-pip stopShare of a $50 balance
1 cent lotAbout 10 USC ($0.10)About $24%
2 cent lotsAbout 20 USC ($0.20)About $48%
10 cent lotsAbout 100 USC ($1)About $2040%

Many traders aim to risk 1% to 2% of the balance per trade. On a $50 Cent account, that points to well under 1 cent lot on a 20-pip stop, so traders either widen their balance or narrow their stops.

Leverage on the Cent account

Exness offers up to unlimited leverage on Standard Cent, but only to eligible accounts. Its Help Center sets the conditions: equity under $5,000 and at least 10 closed orders totalling 5 lots, which is 500 cent lots, across real accounts, on forex majors and minors, gold and silver. Otherwise the default for small accounts is 1:2000. Higher margin requirements still apply around news and weekends. Our Exness leverage guide explains the tiers.

Swaps and swap-free status

Positions held overnight on a Cent account pay or earn swaps like any other Exness account, with a triple swap on Wednesday for forex and metals. Swap-free status is available on all Exness account types, including Standard Cent, and clients from Islamic countries receive it automatically. Our Exness Islamic account guide covers the rules.

The Cent account is the best bridge from demo to live at Exness. Trade it for a month with real money and real emotions, keep leverage low, and only move up when your record shows discipline.

Illustrative case: Ravi, 24, Colombo

Ravi deposited $20 into an Exness Standard Cent account, which showed 2,000 USC. He traded 1 to 5 cent lots on EUR/USD for six weeks, keeping each loss under 30 cents. When his rules held through a volatile month, he opened a Standard account and started at 0.01 lots, the same size in dollars.
