Exness Islamic Swap-Free Account Review

Exness gives every client swap-free status by default, which means you can hold positions overnight on the covered instruments without paying or receiving swap. If you are registered in an Islamic country, every instrument is swap-free automatically. If you are registered elsewhere, swap-free status covers a published list of popular instruments, and it depends on how you trade.

That is the short version. There is more to know before relying on it: Exness monitors trading behaviour, can remove swap-free status, and reserves the right to charge an administration fee on overnight orders. This guide explains how the program works, using Exness’s own Help Center.

Exness operates through several group companies, and the one that holds your account depends on where you live.

Swap Free Exness Account

What Is an Exness Swap-Free Islamic Account?

In standard forex trading, when you hold a position past the daily rollover, the broker charges or credits an amount called a swap, based on the interest rate difference between the two currencies. At Exness, swap is applied at 21:00 GMT in summer and 22:00 GMT in winter. For many Muslim traders this conflicts with the Islamic prohibition on riba (interest).

On a swap-free instrument, no swap is charged or credited, however long you keep the position open. At Exness this is not a separate account type but a status applied to your whole Personal Area, so every trading account you hold shares it.

How Exness’ Swap-Free Program Works

Exness runs two separate swap-free statuses, depending on the country you registered from.

If You’re Registered from an Islamic Country

Clients registered from Islamic countries get swap-free status automatically, and it applies to all trading instruments on every account type in the Personal Area. Exness lists these countries as Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brunei, Chad, Comoros, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, the Maldives, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan.

This Islamic status cannot be converted to the non-Islamic swap-free status, or the other way round.

If You’re Outside an Islamic Country

Clients registered elsewhere also start with swap-free status by default, but it covers a specific list of instruments, and your qualification depends on your trading activity. Exness analyses trading behaviour with an algorithm, and if you do not trade mostly during trading hours and regularly hold large open positions overnight, you may become unqualified.

Which Instruments Are Swap-Free?

For clients outside Islamic countries, Exness’s swap-free status covers these instruments:

Majors: AUDUSD, EURUSD, GBPUSD, NZDUSD, USDCAD, USDCHF, USDJPY and DXY.

Minors: AUDNZD, AUDCAD, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPAUD, GBPCAD, CHFJPY, AUDCHF, AUDJPY, EURAUD, EURCAD, EURGBP, EURJPY, EURNZD, GBPCHF, GBPNZD, NZDJPY, NZDCAD, CADCHF, CADJPY and NZDCHF.

Exotics: USDZAR and USDTHB.

Commodities: XAUUSD, XAUAUD, XAUEUR, XAGUSD, XPTUSD, USOIL and UKOIL.

All cryptocurrencies and all indices.

Swaps are charged on everything else: other metals, energies, minor and exotic pairs, and all stocks. For clients registered in Islamic countries, all instruments are swap-free.

How the Exness Monitoring System Affects Swap-Free Status

This is the most important part of the policy to understand. Exness analyses trading behaviour with an algorithm to check compliance with the swap-free program under its Client Agreement, and recommends trading mostly during the day and keeping overnight orders to a minimum.

If your status changes from qualified to unqualified, Exness sends a notification to your Personal Area. Exness can also cancel swap-free status on all your trading accounts; once it is discontinued, swap charges apply to current and future open orders.

Exness Account Types That Support Swap-Free Trading

Because swap-free status applies to the whole Personal Area, it covers all five account types: Standard, Standard Cent, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero. Exness says it also offers commission-free and swap-free accounts designed for clients in certain regions, including markets where Islamic finance principles are commonly observed.

The Standard account charges no commission and has spreads from 0.2 pips. The Pro account also charges no commission, with spreads from 0.1 pips and instant execution. The Raw Spread account starts from 0.0 pips with a commission of up to $3.50 per side per lot, and the Zero account offers 0.0 pips on its top 30 instruments 95% of the day, with a commission from $0.05 per side per lot.

Minimum deposits depend on the account type, payment method and region. See our Exness account types guide for the full comparison.

How to Check Your Exness Swap-Free Status

In your Personal Area, go to Trading conditions under Exness benefits and select Swap-Free to see your current status. Exness also notifies you in the Personal Area if your status changes.

You can check whether a specific instrument carries swap by viewing its specification in MetaTrader or using Exness’s trading calculator.

Does Exness Charge Administration Fees?

It can. Exness’s Help Center says it reserves the right to apply an administration fee on overnight orders based on a user’s trading activity, because its conditions suit traders who mainly trade within the day. If your trading falls outside that scope, the fee can be applied immediately, including on existing open orders, under its Client Agreement.

The fee is charged per trading account and per lot on positions kept open overnight, Monday to Friday, after 21:00 GMT in summer or 22:00 GMT in winter. The rate depends on the instrument: for example $5 per lot on GBPUSD and $25 per lot on EURUSD. Check the full schedule in the Help Center before holding large positions overnight.

Is the Exness Swap-Free Account Halal?

This article does not give religious advice. It explains the broker’s published trading conditions.

Exness itself says that while some accounts are structured to remove overnight interest, subject to its terms, it makes no representation or guarantee that they suit any specific financial, legal or religious requirement, and it advises seeking independent advice.

Two points are worth weighing. First, Exness reserves the right to charge an administration fee on overnight orders, as described above. Second, scholars hold different views on CFD trading itself, since you do not own the underlying asset. If Sharia compliance is important to you, review Exness’s conditions and consult a scholar familiar with modern financial instruments.

Important Things to Consider

The swap-free program can be useful, but keep these practical points in mind.

Your status is not permanent. If you hold large positions overnight without enough daytime trading, you can become unqualified, and swaps will then apply. Watch the notifications in your Personal Area.

Not every instrument is covered. Outside Islamic countries, exotic pairs (other than USDZAR and USDTHB), some minors, metals other than gold, silver and platinum, energies other than oil, and all stocks carry swaps.

Administration fees can apply. Exness can charge an overnight administration fee per lot, depending on your trading activity.

Islamic and non-Islamic statuses cannot be switched. The status follows the country you registered from.

Triple swap still applies to non-covered instruments. On forex, triple swap is charged on Wednesday night (Thursday for USDCAD) to cover the weekend settlement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to apply for swap-free status?

No. All accounts start with swap-free status, and clients registered in Islamic countries get it on all instruments automatically.

Does swap-free cost extra?

Not as a separate charge for the status, but Exness reserves the right to apply an administration fee on overnight orders based on your trading activity. Spreads and commissions follow the normal account conditions.

Can I trade gold (XAUUSD) without swaps?

Yes. XAUUSD is on Exness’s swap-free list, and for clients registered in Islamic countries all instruments are swap-free, as long as your swap-free status remains qualified.

What happens if my swap-free status is cancelled?

Swap charges apply to your current and future open orders, and Exness sends a notification to your Personal Area.

Can non-Muslims use swap-free accounts?

Yes. Swap-free status is given to all clients by default, whatever their religion. The Islamic status, which covers all instruments, depends on the country you registered from.

Is Exness regulated?

Yes. Exness’s group companies hold licences from 11 regulators, including the FSA (Seychelles), FSCA (South Africa), CMA (Kenya), CBCS (Curaçao) and JSC (Jordan). Its FCA and CySEC companies do not serve retail clients. The company that holds your account depends on your country of residence.

Overview

Exness gives swap-free status to every client by default, and for traders registered in Islamic countries the coverage extends to every instrument. It is one of the broadest swap-free programs we have seen.

The limits are the monitoring system and the administration fee. If you hold many positions overnight without balancing them with daytime activity, you risk losing swap-free status, and Exness reserves the right to charge an overnight administration fee per lot. This matters most for swing traders and anyone holding positions for days or weeks.

Muslim traders should read Exness’s conditions in full and, where religious guidance is needed, consult a qualified Islamic finance scholar.
