FXTM Account Types: Micro, Rewards Plus, Rewards, Advantage and Stocks
FXTM offers five live accounts: a cent-based Micro account, two commission-free Rewards accounts with leverage up to 1:5000, the raw-spread Advantage account with commission, and Advantage Stocks for real US shares. Here is how they compare and which suits you.
FXTM rebuilt its account range around its loyalty programme, FXTM Rewards. Three accounts earn Reward Points: Rewards Plus, Rewards and Advantage. Two don't: the cent-based Micro account for beginners and Advantage Stocks, which buys real US shares without leverage. The right choice depends on how you want to pay for trading, how much you deposit and whether rewards matter to you.

Micro: start in cents
Micro is a cent account on MT4. Your balance shows in US cents, euro cents or, in the UAE, dirham cents, so a $30 deposit appears as 3,000. It covers 28 currency pairs, the US Dollar Index, gold, silver, Brent, WTI, natural gas, Bitcoin and Ethereum. Spreads start at 1.7 pips with no commission, and leverage floats up to 1:1000. It isn't swap-free and doesn't earn rewards. See our FXTM Micro account guide.
Rewards Plus and Rewards: commission-free with points
Both are spread-only accounts with floating leverage up to 1:5000, a 50% margin call and a 20% stop out, and access to more than 1,000 instruments on MT4 and MT5, including stock CFDs and ETFs on MT5. Rewards Plus opens with $100, has spreads from 1.5 pips and earns up to 3X Reward Points. The Rewards account needs $200, has spreads from 0.9 pips and earns up to 2X.
This trade-off is unusual: the account with the lower deposit earns more points but starts with a wider spread. FXTM pitches Rewards Plus at active traders who want the most loyalty value, and Rewards at traders chasing many opportunities who care more about the spread.
Advantage: raw spreads and commission
Advantage is FXTM's account for precision and cost-sensitive traders. FX majors are typically quoted from 0.0 pips, with commission of $3.50 per lot per side, $7 for a round turn. Other assets are charged on notional value: $25 per million on spot metals, $35 per million on indices, commodities and crosses, 0.03% on crypto, $0.02 per side per lot on stock CFDs and $0.01 on ETF CFDs. It suits Expert Advisors on MT4 and MT5 and offers leverage up to 1:3000.
Advantage has a higher minimum deposit, $500, and tighter risk levels: an 80% margin call and a 50% stop out, compared with 50% and 20% on the Rewards accounts. That means positions close earlier on Advantage. Our FXTM fees guide shows the commission maths.
Advantage Stocks: real shares
Advantage Stocks is a separate MT5 account for buying more than 350 US shares outright, at 1:1 with no leverage, no commission and no swaps. You can't short, and there are no margin calls because there is no borrowing. Our FXTM stock trading guide covers it alongside stock CFDs.

Things to know about FXTM accounts
- You can hold up to 10 live trading accounts under one FXTM profile.
- Leverage can only be changed when the account has no open positions.
- Spreads are floating and widen in volatile or illiquid markets.
- Kenyan residents are limited to 1:400 leverage on every account.
- FXTM's Help Centre still mentions an older Edge account; new clients choose from the five above.
Account details on FXTM's pages don't always agree on which accounts get which markets or rewards. Its Help Centre, for example, describes rewards on 'Advantage and Advantage Plus', older account names. Check the account details in your dashboard before you open one.
Account currencies and execution
Micro balances are held in US cents, euro cents or, in the UAE, dirham cents. Rewards Plus, Rewards and Advantage accounts can be held in US dollars, euros or pounds, with dirham accounts for UAE clients and naira accounts for Nigerian clients. Advantage Stocks is US dollars only.
Execution is the same across the range. FXTM says every account runs on the same technology with market execution, and quotes an average execution speed of 0.082 seconds on its account pages.
The biggest difference between FXTM's accounts isn't the spread; it is the stop out. Advantage closes positions at 50% and warns at 80%, while the Rewards accounts let you run down to 20%. Pick the account whose risk levels match how you trade.
Kofi started on a $30 Micro account to learn MT4. After three months of steady results, he opened a Rewards Plus account with $100, choosing it for the Reward Points and because its 20% stop out gave his small positions more room than Advantage would.
