Fusion Markets Zero vs Classic.

Fusion Markets Zero vs Classic.

Fusion Markets offers two main live accounts. Zero gives you raw spreads from 0.0 pips and charges $2.25 per side, or $4.50 for a full round turn on one standard lot. Classic charges no commission and adds about 0.9 pips to the same raw spread. Neither has a minimum account size, and both run on a New York trade server with every product available.

A third option, the swap-free account, replaces overnight swaps with an admin charge and is aimed at traders whose faith rules out interest. There is also a free demo. That is the whole menu, which makes the choice easier than at brokers with six or seven tiers.

Which one is cheaper?

Work it out on one standard lot of EUR/USD, where a pip is worth $10. Fusion's forex page shows an average raw spread of 0.01 pips on that pair. On Zero you pay about $0.10 in spread plus $4.50 commission, a total close to $4.60. For Classic, the FAQ puts the EUR/USD spread near 0.92 pips, which is about $9.20 and no commission.

Which one is cheaper?. 1 lot EUR/USD: About $4.60: About $9.20; 0.1 lot EUR/USD: About $0.46: About $0.92; 0.01 lot EUR/USD: About $0.05: About $0.09

0.1 lot EUR/USDAbout $0.46About $0.92

Zero comes out at roughly half the price. The gap is real, but look at the bottom row. On micro lots the difference is a few cents a trade, so a beginner placing ten small trades a month saves less than a dollar. An active trader doing 50 lots a month saves more than $200.

Classic has one honest advantage: the price on your chart is the whole cost. You don't need to add a commission in your head before working out a break-even point. Some traders, and some simple EAs, are easier to manage that way.

Platform limits by account

Your platform choice can decide the account for you. cTrader and TradingView are available on Zero only. Fusion's FAQ explains that cTrader uses an institutional fee model, charging $2.25 per $100,000 of notional volume per side instead of per lot, so a spread-only account doesn't fit it.

MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 carry both Zero and Classic. Swap-free accounts are limited to those two as well. Our Fusion Markets platforms guide compares the four in more detail.

The swap-free account

Swap-free accounts carry no overnight interest. In its place Fusion applies an admin charge once every seven days that a position stays open, so a trade closed within a week costs nothing extra. An eight-day EUR/USD trade costs $50 per lot; gold costs $200 per lot for the same period.

You can't mix account kinds. A client holds either swap-free accounts or swap-charged ones, never both. Applications go through your account manager or support. The Fusion Markets Islamic account guide lists the fees by instrument.

How to switch or add accounts

You are not locked in. To move from Classic to Zero, or back, email support and they change the account type. An additional account in the Client Hub is often simpler: select Live, then New Account, and choose the type, platform and base currency.

Fourteen base currencies are offered, from USD, EUR and GBP to THB, SGD and JPY. Empty accounts that sit unused for 90 days are archived to keep the servers tidy. They are not deleted, and you can hide accounts you no longer use from the Hub view.

Start on Classic if commission maths gets in your way, and move to Zero once you trade more than a few lots a month. The switch is one email.

Which account should you pick?

  • New trader on micro lots: Classic or Zero, the cost gap is cents. Classic is simpler.
  • Day trader or scalper: Zero, since commission plus raw spread is about half the Classic cost.
  • EA user on MetaTrader: Zero for cost, unless your EA assumes spread-only pricing.
  • cTrader or TradingView user: Zero, the only type those platforms support.
  • Trader who avoids interest for religious reasons: swap-free, with short holding periods.

Whatever you pick, practise the costs on a demo first. Our Fusion Markets demo account guide explains the 30-day rule and how to keep a demo open longer.

What both accounts share

Away from pricing, Zero and Classic are the same product. Each one has market execution with no dealing desk, trade sizes from 0.01 lots up to 100 lots per order, and a limit of 200 open and pending orders on MetaTrader. Leverage for international clients runs up to 500:1 on forex and metals on both. A margin call arrives at a 90% margin level and stop out at 20%.

Payment rules don't change with the account either. Fusion charges nothing to deposit or withdraw, most methods start at 10 USD, and negative balance protection applies to clients of the Vanuatu and Seychelles companies outside a short list of excluded countries. Support is open 24/7 whichever type you hold.

Extras tied to trading volume

Three perks depend on how much you trade, not on the account label. A sponsored VPS is free once you pass 20 lots of forex or metals in 30 days. Fusion+ copy trading costs nothing above 2.5 lots a month and $10 a month below that. High-volume clients can be invited to the Premium Program, where commission rebates start from 15.11%.

Small traders shouldn't chase any of these. They are rewards for activity that already makes sense for your account, and extra trades placed to hit a volume target cost more than the perk is worth.

Common mistakes when picking an account

Some people pick Classic because zero commission sounds free, without seeing that the charge has moved into the spread. Others open Zero and forget the commission when they set a take-profit a few pips away. A third group applies for swap-free to dodge overnight charges on long trades and then meets the weekly admin fee. Each mistake comes from reading the label instead of adding up one trade.

Two accounts with one clear difference is refreshing. I tell people to ignore the labels and price one lot of their main pair on both. With Fusion that sum favours Zero for almost anyone trading regularly.

Illustrative case: Siti, 31, Kuala Lumpur

Siti traded 0.05 lots of EUR/USD about 40 times a month on Classic, paying close to $18 in spread. She emailed support to switch to Zero, and the same activity cost her roughly $9. On her volume the saving was modest, but it paid for her charting subscription.

Frequently asked

What account types does Fusion Markets have?

Two main live accounts, Zero and Classic, plus a swap-free version and a free demo. Zero has raw spreads with a $4.50 round-turn commission per lot, and Classic has no commission with spreads from 0.9 pips.

Which Fusion Markets account is best for beginners?

Either works on micro lots because the cost gap is a few cents per trade. Classic is simpler since the spread is the full cost. Zero becomes clearly cheaper once you trade several standard lots a month.

Can I switch between Zero and Classic?

Yes. Email Fusion's support team and they change the account type. You can also open a second account of the other type in the Client Hub and move funds between them.

Is there a minimum deposit for the Zero account?

No. Both Zero and Classic have no minimum account size. Payment methods have their own floors, usually 10 USD.

Can I use cTrader with a Classic account?

No. cTrader and TradingView accounts are Zero only. MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 support both Zero and Classic.

Does Fusion Markets offer a cent account?

Not as a separate account. You can trade micro lots of 0.01 on every account type, which keeps the pip value on EUR/USD to about 10 cents.
