IUX Verification: POI, POA, Bank (POB) and EDD Documents Explained
IUX verifies your identity (POI), address (POA) and bank account (POB) before you can deposit and withdraw, and may ask for a deeper due-diligence review (EDD) later. Here are the accepted documents, file rules, rejection reasons and how to get approved first time.
IUX's verification has three layers. Proof of identity (POI) confirms who you are, proof of address (POA) confirms where you live, and proof of bank (POB) confirms the bank account you'll pay in from and withdraw to. IUX's Help Center says withdrawals stay locked until all three are done, and that deposits should only follow a verified profile.
For some clients IUX adds a fourth layer, called EDD, a deeper due-diligence review that asks where your money comes from. It isn't required for everyone, but it carries real limits if you ignore it.
| POI | Passport, national ID or driving licence |
|---|---|
| POA | Issued within 3 months (ID can double as POA) |
| POB | Passbook page or bank statement |
| POI file limit | JPG, PNG or PDF, up to 20 MB |
| POA and EDD limit | Up to 8 MB |
| Bank review | About 3 to 15 minutes |
Proof of identity (POI)
IUX accepts standard identity documents: passports, national ID cards and driving licences. The document must come from your country of nationality and be valid for at least three more months. During verification you scan it with your phone camera and then complete a face scan, turning your head as the app asks, so the system can match you to the document.
Some documents are refused outright. IUX lists birth certificates, employee or company ID cards, credit and debit cards, international driving permits, student ID cards and visas as not accepted for POI.
| Requirement | IUX rule |
|---|---|
| File types | JPG, JPEG, PNG or PDF |
| Resolution | 1080p (1920 x 1080) recommended |
| File size | Up to 20 MB |
| Framing | Document fills about 70% of the frame with space around the edges |
| Lighting | Natural light; no flash or glare |
| Fingers | Nothing covering any part of the document |
IUX says its scanning works best with a phone camera through the trading app. Webcam images are lower resolution and fail more often.
Face verification
The face scan has to be done by the account holder. IUX says family members or friends can't complete it for you, and a scan by someone else may be rejected. It recommends good light, a plain background, nobody else in the frame, and removing glasses, hats, scarves or face coverings. IUX may also ask for a fresh face scan later as an extra security check, and some services can be paused until it is passed.
Proof of address (POA)
Your proof of address must show your full name and residential address matching your registration, come from an official source with a visible logo or URL, and be dated within the last three months. There is a shortcut: if your national ID already shows your full address, IUX lets you upload the same document for both POI and POA.
- Accepted: clear, complete documents such as a bank statement (original PDF preferred) or other official papers listed for your country.
- Rejected: wallet or account balance pages, money transfer receipts and profile pages.
- Cropped screenshots, or documents without your residential address, are refused too.
- Statements from generator websites, edited files, expired papers and anything older than three months also fail.
Proof of bank (POB)
After your identity is approved, add a bank account: Profile icon > Settings > Payment Methods > Add Payment Method. Select your bank, enter the account number and holder name, and upload a clear bank document such as the first page of your passbook or a bank statement. The document must show your full name and account number, and the name must match your IUX profile exactly.
IUX says it reviews bank documents in about 3 to 15 minutes, after which you can deposit and trade. To switch banks later, use Change Payment Method in the same menu and upload a document for the new account.
Why documents get rejected
| Reason | What to do |
|---|---|
| You already registered with another email | Log in to the original profile; reset the password if needed |
| ID expires within 3 months | Renew it or use another accepted document |
| Blurry, small, watermarked or crossed-out image | Rescan a clear, complete image |
| Document type doesn't match the option selected | Resubmit under the right category |
| Country on document differs from registration | Upload a document from the registered country |
| Age outside IUX's eligibility rules | Can't be approved |
IUX emails the specific rejection reason to your registered address and shows it in the app's member area.
EDD: the extra review
An EDD review can start when your account activity, transaction pattern or profile falls into a higher-risk category. Until you complete it, IUX can restrict opening live accounts, limit deposits, cap withdrawals at $10,000 and stop you opening new positions, though you can still close existing ones.
| Category | Example documents |
|---|---|
| Source of wealth or funds | Tax reports for the past 2 to 3 years, investment records, property deeds |
| Occupation or business | Employment certificate, business registration, shareholding certificate, company accounts |
| Bank reference | Official bank reference letter or a credit report from a recognised bureau |
EDD files can be JPG, PNG or PDF up to 8 MB. IUX's list of common EDD rejection reasons covers poor image quality, missing names or dates, the wrong document category, expired papers, documents without stamps or signatures from a recognised body, cropped images and spelling differences from your profile.
Living in more than one country
If you live, work or travel abroad, IUX bases verification on documents, not on where you are. Your ID must come from your country of nationality and your bank document from a bank in that country, and the country you register must match both. If you have permanent residency elsewhere or changed nationality, contact support at [email protected] before verifying.
Most IUX verification delays we see come from small details: a statement four months old, a cropped corner, or a name spelled differently from the profile. Check those three things before you upload and approval is usually quick.
Diego's first proof of address was rejected because it was a screenshot of his banking app's balance page. He downloaded the original PDF statement from the last month instead, which showed his name, address and the bank's logo, and it was accepted the same day.
Frequently asked
What documents does IUX need for verification?
Proof of identity (passport, national ID or driving licence), proof of address issued within three months, and proof of bank such as a passbook page or bank statement.
Can I use my ID card as proof of address with IUX?
Yes, if it clearly shows your full residential address. IUX lets you upload the same document for POI and POA.
Which documents does IUX not accept for identity?
Birth certificates, employee or company IDs, credit or debit cards, international driving permits, student IDs and visas.
How long does IUX bank verification take?
IUX says bank documents are reviewed in about 3 to 15 minutes.
What is EDD at IUX?
An extra due-diligence review that asks for source-of-funds, occupation or bank reference documents. Until it is done, IUX can cap withdrawals at $10,000, limit deposits and block new positions.
Why was my IUX verification rejected?
Common reasons are a duplicate profile, an ID expiring within three months, a blurry or cropped image, the wrong document type, or a country mismatch. IUX emails the reason.
Can someone else do my IUX face scan?
No. IUX says only the account holder can complete the face scan.
Do I have to withdraw to a verified bank account?
Yes. Withdrawals go only to accounts in your own name, and IUX requires POI, POA and POB to be completed first.
Do I need to verify again for a second IUX account?
No. IUX verifies new accounts automatically when your name, email and phone match your verified profile.
