FP Markets Withdrawal: Methods, Times and the Return-to-Source Order
FP Markets returns your deposits to each method you used, cards first, before you can withdraw profits elsewhere. It charges no fee on bank wire withdrawals, and Skrill and Neteller arrive in about a business day. Here is how to withdraw, how long it takes and how to trace a late payment.
You withdraw from FP Markets through the Client Portal. The key rule, set out in its FAQ, is that you must first withdraw the amount you deposited back to the same method; if you used several methods, card deposits go back first, then the others in the order you made them. Only after that can you send profits to another method in your own name.
FP Markets doesn't charge for bank wire withdrawals, and it lets you withdraw while trades are open, as long as your free funds cover the amount.
| Where | Client Portal, Funding, Withdraw |
|---|---|
| Order | Deposits back to each method, cards first |
| Profits | Any method in your own name |
| Skrill, Neteller | About one business day |
| Bank wire fee | None from FP Markets |
| Open trades | Allowed if free funds cover it |
How to withdraw
- Log in to the FP Markets Client Portal.
- Choose Funding, then Withdraw.
- Select the account and the method shown.
- For card refunds, enter the last three digits of the card you deposited with.
- Enter the amount and submit.
The withdrawal order
FP Markets' rule has three steps. First, refund card deposits to the same cards. Second, return the remaining deposits to their methods in the order you made them. Third, withdraw profits by any method, provided the account is in your name.
| Your deposits | Your balance | How to withdraw it |
|---|---|---|
| $300 card, then $200 Skrill | $800 | $300 to the card, $200 to Skrill, $300 profit by any method in your name |
| $500 bank wire | $650 | $500 by wire, then $150 profit by any method |
FP Markets can only refund a card that was used to deposit.
How long it takes
| Method | Typical time | If it is late |
|---|---|---|
| Skrill, Neteller | One business day | Contact support |
| Card refund | Varies by bank | After 7 business days, ask for the ARN |
| Bank wire | Several days | After 10 business days, ask for the SWIFT copy |
| Crypto wallet | Varies | Contact support |
Tracing a late payment
For card refunds that haven't arrived after seven business days, email FP Markets' accounting team for the ARN (acquirer reference number) and give it to your bank; FP Markets suggests speaking to someone familiar with international card refunds. Bank wires missing after ten business days need the SWIFT copy, which your bank can use to trace the funds.
Fees
FP Markets says it doesn't charge for processing bank wire withdrawals, and it charges no deposit fees. Your bank, or intermediary banks, may still charge. Our FP Markets fees guide lists all trading costs.
Withdrawing with open trades
You can request a withdrawal while you have open positions, as long as your free funds cover the amount. Withdrawing reduces your equity, though, so check your margin level first: FP Markets issues a margin call at 100% and stops out at 50%.
Cancelling a withdrawal
To cancel a request, go to Client Portal, then Funding, then Withdraw, click the dotted icon next to the request and choose Cancel.
Moving to another broker
FP Markets supports broker-to-broker transfers in both directions. To move money to a new broker, complete the form your new broker provides and send it to FP Markets, which processes the transfer. Closing an account entirely takes an email to FP Markets' cash team requesting a full withdrawal.
Checklist
- Make sure your account is verified.
- Refund card deposits first, to the same card.
- Use a bank account or wallet in your own name.
- Check free funds and margin if you have open trades.
- Keep the confirmation and note the date.
Withdrawing commissions as an introducing broker
Introducing brokers withdraw commission from FP Markets' separate IB portal, by bank wire, Neteller or Skrill. That is a different route from client withdrawals in the Client Portal.
Keeping records
Download your transaction history from the Client Portal with Generate Report, and keep withdrawal confirmations with your bank statements. If a payment needs tracing, the date, amount and method are what FP Markets' accounting team will ask for first.
Lost or stolen card
When the card you deposited with has been lost or stolen, FP Markets can't refund it. Send its accounting team a letter from your bank confirming the card was lost or stolen, plus a card statement showing the bank details, and FP Markets will send the refund by bank transfer instead.
Why some withdrawals are split
If you deposited by more than one method, FP Markets has to return each deposit to its own method before any profit can go elsewhere. A single request larger than your card deposits may therefore be paid partly to the card and partly by another route, or you may be asked to submit separate requests.
Planning this in advance saves time. Add up what you deposited by each method, request those amounts first, and then request the profit to the bank account or wallet you prefer.
FP Markets' withdrawal order is strict but logical: cards first, then each method in turn, then profits. Map your deposits before you request, and you'll avoid a rejected or split withdrawal.
Lerato deposited $200 by card and $300 by Skrill into FP Markets, and grew the account to $900. She withdrew $200 to her card first, then $300 to Skrill, which arrived the next business day, and finally sent the $400 profit by bank wire, with no FP Markets fee.
