What each costs on EUR/USD
FP Markets' September 2026 spread table showed EUR/USD averaging 1.2 pips on Standard and 0.1 pips on Raw. A pip on one lot of EUR/USD is worth about US$10.
| Account | Spread cost per lot | Commission per lot | Total per round turn |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | About $12 (1.2 pips) | $0 | About $12 |
| Raw | About $1 (0.1 pips) | $6 | About $7 |
On these averages, Raw is cheaper per lot on EUR/USD. Standard can still suit traders who want a single, simple cost or trade small sizes. Our FP Markets spreads guide covers other pairs.
Raw commission by account currency
Raw commission on forex and metals is charged in your account currency. FP Markets lists US$3, €2.75, £2.25, A$3.50, C$3.50, S$3.50, ¥300, HK$22.50, NZ$4.40, CHF 3 and PLN 12.20 per lot per side on MT4 and MT5. On cTrader, it is US$3 per lot each way, converted to your base currency. Commodities, indices and crypto carry no commission on either account.
Islamic versions
Both accounts are available as swap-free Islamic accounts on MT4, MT5 and cTrader, with a US$100 minimum opening balance. Instead of swaps, FP Markets charges a nightly administration fee, with a five-night grace period on some major pairs and gold. See our FP Markets Islamic account guide.
Joint, corporate and trust accounts
FP Markets also opens joint accounts, which need identity and address documents for both applicants; corporate accounts, which need company documents and ID for every owner of 25% or more; and individual and corporate trust accounts, which need the trust deed. Its onboarding team handles these.
Managed accounts: MAM and PAMM
For investors who want a professional to trade for them, FP Markets offers MAM and PAMM accounts run by money managers, who charge performance or management fees. Our FP Markets copy trading guide explains how they work.
Multiple accounts and currencies
You can hold up to 10 trading accounts under one Client Portal, and FP Markets suggests keeping them all under the same email address. Accounts can be in AUD, USD, EUR, GBP, SGD, CAD, CHF, HKD, JPY or PLN. Once your first account is verified, new accounts don't need documents again, and you can move money between accounts under the same Client Portal.
Trading rules on both accounts
- Scalping and hedging are allowed.
- There's no minimum distance for stop loss, take profit or pending orders.
- Open orders have no cap.
- The maximum forex trade is 50 lots per order.
- EAs are allowed, within a limit of 5,000 actions per 24 hours.
Which FP Markets account should you choose?
- Active or high-volume traders: Raw, for lower all-in costs on forex and gold.
- Beginners trading small sizes: Standard, if you prefer one simple cost.
- TradingView users: Raw, the only account that connects to TradingView.
- Share CFD traders: Raw, where FP Markets lists stocks.
- Swap-free: either account in its Islamic version.
Break-even: when Raw beats Standard
On a Raw account you pay US$6 per lot round turn in commission, while Standard builds about one extra pip into the spread, worth about US$10 per lot on EUR/USD. Raw therefore costs less whenever that pip is worth more than US$6, which is true on EUR/USD and most USD-quoted majors at any trade size. On pairs where a pip is worth less, compare the averages pair by pair.
| Monthly volume (EUR/USD) | Standard cost | Raw cost | Raw saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 lots | About $60 | About $35 | About $25 |
| 20 lots | About $240 | About $140 | About $100 |
| 50 lots | About $600 | About $350 | About $250 |
Estimates use FP Markets' September 2026 averages and exclude swaps.
On FP Markets' own averages, Raw costs less than Standard on EUR/USD at any size. The Standard account's appeal is simplicity, not price, so most active traders will be better served by Raw.
Owen traded about 20 lots of EUR/USD a month on an FP Markets Standard account. Using FP Markets' average spreads, he estimated that Raw would cost about $7 per lot instead of $12, saving around $100 a month, so he opened a Raw account under the same Client Portal and moved his balance across.
