The AvaTrade app is the broker's own mobile platform for iOS and Android. AvaTrade says you can use it to open a trading account, deposit and trade, with charts, indicators and account functions in one place. Its app page adds price alerts, news, heatmaps, AI-driven insights and risk tools including stop loss and AvaProtect. The Help Center describes it as compatible with MT4 and MT5 accounts, giving access to both your account area and trading.
It is the only way, alongside WebTrader, to use AvaProtect, which makes it more than a mobile copy of MetaTrader.

Getting started
- Download the AvaTrade app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Register, or log in with your AvaTrade email and password.
- Upload your ID and address documents under Accounts, then Upload documents.
- Deposit at least $100.
- Choose an instrument and place your first trade.

AvaProtect on mobile
On the trade screen, tick AvaProtect, choose a protection period and the app shows the premium before you confirm. If the trade is losing when protection ends, or you close it at a loss, AvaTrade refunds the loss. Shorter periods of 1 to 12 hours appear for some pairs. Our AvaProtect guide explains the rules.

AvaTrade offers both: its own app, plus the MetaTrader 4 and 5 mobile apps for iOS and Android. Many traders use the AvaTrade app for account tasks and AvaProtect, and MetaTrader for charting they already know.
Login problems
- Try logging in to your account area in a mobile or desktop browser to confirm your details work.
- Clear the app's cookies and cache on your phone.
- Use 'Forgot your password?' on the login screen; you'll confirm your date of birth when setting a new one.
- As a fallback, log in through the MT4 or MT5 mobile apps or web terminals.
- Contact Client Support if none of these work.
Security habits
- Download the app only from the official App Store or Google Play listing.
- Use a unique password and change it in your account area if you suspect any problem.
- Never share your password or account access with anyone offering to trade for you.
Is the AvaTrade app good?

Analysis tools in the app
AvaTrade describes a discovery area with market ideas, analysis tools and trading insights, alongside charts, technical indicators, watchlists, news and heatmaps. Its AI tools, powered by its partner Bridgewise, show automatic overview, news and technical analysis for the instrument you are viewing. AvaTrade stresses that this is general information, not trading advice.
Moving between app and web

Trading on your phone: good habits
- Set stop loss and take profit when you open every trade.
- Use price alerts instead of watching charts all day.
- Check margin before news, especially on gold and indices.
- Plan bigger trades on a larger screen, then manage them on mobile.
Uploading documents in the app
- Sign in to the AvaTrade app and select your active trading account.
- Tap the menu icon at the bottom right of the screen.
- Choose Accounts, then Upload documents.
- Select your ID type and upload the front and back, then your proof of address.
- Tap Upload and wait for the confirmation message.
AvaTrade says you'll hear within the next business day whether the documents are approved.

When to use the MetaTrader apps instead
If you already trade MT4 or MT5 on a computer, the MetaTrader mobile apps keep the same layout, order types and indicators on your phone. They don't offer AvaProtect, deposits or AvaTrade's AI tools, and neither app runs Expert Advisors. A common set-up is MetaTrader for charting and trading, and the AvaTrade app for funding, verification and protected trades.
The AvaTrade app's real advantage is AvaProtect. If you trade around news from your phone, pricing protection on the trade screen before you confirm is a feature most broker apps simply don't have.
