AvaTrade Minimum Deposit: $100, Payment Methods and Funding Times

AvaTrade's minimum deposit is 100 units of your account's base currency: $100 on a USD account, €100 on a EUR account, £100 on GBP (UK clients only) and AUD 100 on AUD (Australian clients only). The Help Center says the same minimum applies to credit card, wire transfer and e-wallet deposits. It also adds a recommendation many traders miss: to use the full range of products, it suggests starting with at least 1,000 to 2,000 in your base currency.
There's no separate higher minimum for different account types on its standard offer, though some products, such as DupliTrade copy trading, set their own entry amounts.

The deposit page shows only the methods available in your country. AvaTrade names Skrill, Boleto and Qiwi as alternatives where PayPal isn't offered. AvaTrade's fees page doesn't list a deposit charge, while its VIP page advertises zero deposit fees as a VIP perk, so check the deposit screen for your method. Your bank or payment provider may also charge its own fees.
How to deposit
- Log in to your AvaTrade account and open the Finance section, then Deposit.
- Choose your payment method.
- Select the trading account to fund from the drop-down list.
- Enter the amount, at least 100 in your base currency.
- Add the payment details and confirm; card payments may need a 3D Secure code from your bank.
Clients from European countries must verify their accounts before depositing. Elsewhere, you can deposit first, but your account must be verified within 14 days of the first deposit or it may be blocked.
Why the minimum is only a starting point
A $100 deposit opens the account, but it limits what you can do. On a major pair at 30:1, one standard lot needs over $3,000 of margin, so a $100 account can only trade micro lots, and a few losing trades can stop it out. AvaTrade's own suggestion of 1,000 to 2,000 reflects that.

Base currency: choose carefully
An account's base currency can't be changed after it is created. If you want a different currency, you add a new account with that currency from your account area. Deposits by someone else
AvaTrade accepts third-party deposits, but it asks for additional documents, including a Power of Attorney form, to verify the payer. Withdrawals then have to return 100% of that deposit to the original method first. Paying from your own card or account is far simpler.
Wire transfer tips
- Send AvaTrade a copy of the SWIFT confirmation or receipt so the transfer can be traced.
- Use your AvaTrade account number as the payment reference.
- Allow up to 10 business days, depending on your bank and country.
- Check for intermediary bank fees, which are set by your bank, not AvaTrade.
Bonuses on deposits
AvaTrade sometimes runs welcome bonus promotions, subject to terms, and they aren't available in every jurisdiction. Treat $100 as the price of entry, not a trading budget. Start on the demo, then deposit an amount where a normal stop loss is under 2% of your balance; for most people that means more than the minimum.
