AvaTrade Withdrawal: Processing Times, Methods and Why Requests Get Delayed
AvaTrade processes withdrawals within one business day, after which cards take up to 5 business days, e-wallets about a day and bank wires up to 10. Money goes back to the method you deposited with first. Here is how to withdraw, what it costs and how to avoid delays.
AvaTrade processes withdrawal requests within one business day, according to its Help Center, and then the time to reach you depends on the method: up to 5 business days for cards, about one day for e-wallets and up to 10 business days for bank wires. Your account must be fully verified, and anti-money laundering rules mean the money goes back to the method you deposited with, wherever possible.
Most delays come from the checks AvaTrade runs before sending the money, not from the payment itself.
| Processing | Within 1 business day |
|---|---|
| Cards | Up to 5 business days |
| E-wallets | Up to 1 day |
| Bank wire | Up to 10 business days |
| Rule | Back to the deposit method first |
| Wire fees | AvaTrade covers bank fees up to 100 |

|---|---|---|
| Credit or debit card | Up to 5 business days | Refunded to the card used |

| E-wire | Up to 3 days | |

The return-to-source rule
AvaTrade's policy is to return withdrawals to the original source of funding whenever possible. For card deposits, you must withdraw up to 100% of what you deposited by card back to that card before using another method in your name. AvaTrade gives an example: deposit $1,000 by card and make a $1,500 profit, and the first $1,000 goes back to the card; the profit can then go by another method. Deposits made through a third party must have 100% returned to that method first.
Withdraw profits to a bank account in your own name once your card deposits have been refunded. That is usually the cleanest route for larger amounts.
Why a withdrawal can be delayed
AvaTrade lists the checks it makes before releasing a withdrawal:
- Verification: your identity and address documents must be approved.
- Promotions: if you took a bonus, its minimum trading volume must be met.
- Margin: you need enough usable margin to cover the amount; open positions tie it up.
- Method: you must request the correct method under the return-to-source rule.
Bonus terms in particular can hold up withdrawals: AvaTrade requires a trading volume of 30,000 in base currency for every $1 of bonus within 100 days. Our AvaTrade bonus page explains the terms.
Fees
AvaTrade doesn't charge withdrawal fees itself and covers bank transfer fees on withdrawals up to $/€/£100 of fees. If your bank uses an intermediary bank, that bank's charge is between you and your bank, and may reduce the amount you receive. Our AvaTrade fees guide covers the inactivity and administration fees that can hit a dormant balance.
Cancelling a withdrawal
If your request is still Pending, you can cancel it within the day from your account area: open Withdrawal Funds, then Pending Withdrawals, tick the request and click Cancel withdrawals. The money returns to your trading account.
Withdrawing from DupliTrade or closing your account
DupliTrade copy trading accounts are funded and withdrawn through your AvaTrade account area like any other account. To close an account, withdraw your funds first, then email your Account Manager or Client Services asking for it to be closed. Our AvaTrade copy trading guide covers DupliTrade.
Checklist before you withdraw
- Check your account shows Verified.
- Confirm any bonus volume is complete, or that you are happy to lose the bonus.
- Close positions or check free margin covers the amount.
- Withdraw card deposits back to the card first.
- Request on a business day to avoid weekend delays.
The return-to-source rule in numbers
Suppose you deposited $600 by card and your balance has grown to $1,000.
| Step | Amount | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Refund card deposits | $600 | Back to the card you used |
| 2. Withdraw the profit | $400 | Bank transfer or e-wallet in your name |
If you ask for $1,000 to your bank in one go, the request will be adjusted or delayed. Splitting it as above avoids that.
A typical timeline
| Day | What happens |
|---|---|
| Day 0 | You submit the request on a business day |
| Within 1 business day | AvaTrade processes it |
| Next 1 to 10 business days | Your card, e-wallet or bank receives it, depending on method |
Problems and fixes
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Account not verified | Upload the missing documents and wait for approval |
| Bonus volume not met | Trade the required volume, or cancel the bonus in My Account |
| Not enough usable margin | Close positions or reduce exposure |
| Wrong method | Return card deposits to the card first |
| Wire arrived short | Send AvaTrade a bank statement showing the fees |
Keep a record
Save the confirmation of every deposit and withdrawal, and download account statements from your account area from time to time. If a payment ever goes missing or arrives short, a statement and the transaction reference let AvaTrade trace it quickly. Records also help with tax, which AvaTrade says is your responsibility to check with your local authorities.
With AvaTrade, read the four checks before you click withdraw: verification, bonus volume, free margin and method. Nearly every 'stuck' withdrawal story we see traces back to one of them.
Priya deposited $500 by card at AvaTrade and grew the account to $1,200. She requested $1,200 to her bank, and support explained the first $500 had to go back to her card. In the end she split the request: $500 to the card and $700 by wire, and both arrived within the stated times.
