Pepperstone has no minimum deposit to open an account. Its trading accounts page says there is no obligation to fund at all, and that when you do, the smallest amount you can add is $10 or the local equivalent. Bank wires have no minimum, and crypto deposits start at about $20 depending on which Pepperstone page you read.

Both live accounts, Standard and Razor, follow the same rule. Pepperstone charges nothing to deposit, whichever method you use, though your bank or payment provider may add its own fee. Cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Skrill and Neteller are credited immediately.

Why a $10 deposit is rarely enough

Ten dollars opens the door, but it doesn't leave much room to trade. On a standard lot of EUR/USD each pip is worth about $10, and on the smallest 0.01 lot it is about 10 cents. A $10 balance at 1:200 leverage can hold a micro lot, but an ordinary move against you can wipe it out in minutes.

Why a $10 deposit is rarely enough. $10–$50: 0.01 lot, one trade at a time: Learning the platform, not earning; $100–$500: 0.01–0.05 lot: Room for a stop loss of 20–50 pips; $1,000+: 0.1 lot or less: A 1% risk per trade becomes practical

Use the free demo first. Pepperstone gives you a demo account when you register, and you can keep up to five demos without a live account. Our account opening guide explains how.

Choosing a base currency

Pepperstone accounts can be held in ten currencies: US dollars, euros, pounds, Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong dollars, Swiss francs and yen. If you fund in a different currency, Pepperstone shows the converted amount, and you lose a little on the exchange each way. Pick the currency your bank account or card uses where possible.

A trader in a country whose currency isn't on the list, such as Nigeria or Bangladesh, usually does best with a US dollar account, because most instruments are priced in dollars and the conversion happens only once, at the card or e-wallet.

Rules on who can pay

  • Every deposit must come from an account in your own name. Pepperstone refuses third-party payments.
  • Joint bank accounts and cards are accepted if you are one of the owners.
  • Bank transfers need the reference code shown in your client area.
  • Withdrawals go back to the method you paid with, so fund with a method you can also withdraw to.

Pepperstone also warns that it will never request or start a crypto transfer for you. A message asking you to send coins to fund your account is a scam, even if it uses Pepperstone's name and logo.

Is there a bonus on the first deposit?

No. Pepperstone's global site advertises no deposit bonus. Its promotions are a referral programme that pays you and a friend up to $1,000 each once the friend trades enough, and volume rebates for Pro clients. See our Pepperstone refer-a-friend guide for the exact conditions.

No minimum and $10 top-ups are friendly for beginners, but I'd still treat $100 as the practical floor. Below that, spreads and normal price noise do more damage than your strategy can repair.

Mai opened a USD Standard account, deposited $120 through a Vietnamese local method and traded 0.01 lots of EUR/USD with a 30-pip stop. After two weeks she moved to a Razor account to compare costs on the same trades.
