LiteFinance Trading Platforms: MT4, MT5, cTrader, Web Terminal and Apps
LiteFinance offers MetaTrader 4 and 5, cTrader on ECN accounts, a web terminal inside the Client Profile and mobile apps for Android and iOS. Here is how they compare, which accounts each supports, and fixes for common login problems.
LiteFinance offers the three best-known third-party platforms, MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and cTrader, plus its own web terminal built into the Client Profile and mobile apps for Android and iOS. Its FAQ says all are available for both demo and real accounts. The web terminal works in any browser on computers and phones and connects to your MetaTrader accounts, so you can trade without installing anything.
Which platforms you can use depends on the account type.

MetaTrader 4 and 5
MetaTrader remains the standard for Expert Advisors and custom indicators, and LiteFinance places no limits on trading strategies or advisers. Useful shortcuts from its FAQ: F9 opens a new order, Ctrl+T shows the terminal window, Ctrl+N the navigator, and F8 opens chart properties, where you can tick 'Show Ask line' to see the price buy orders open at.
cTrader
cTrader is available on ECN accounts. When you open your first cTrader account, LiteFinance emails a cTrader ID (cTID) from Spotware, which gives access to all your LiteFinance cTrader accounts, real and demo, with one login. It can't be used to log in to the Client Profile. cTrader supports QuickTrade one-click or double-click orders, cBots and custom indicators; cBots only run while the platform is open, so LiteFinance suggests its VPS for round-the-clock use.
Web terminal and apps
The web terminal in the Client Profile lets you pick a market tab, open a chart and trade from the order panel on the right, with open trades shown in the Portfolio panel. It is also where copy trading lives. LiteFinance's mobile apps for Android and iOS bring the same features to phones. Our LiteFinance copy trading guide covers Social Trading.
Common login problems
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| 'Invalid account' | Use only the number of your account, e.g. 12345 for MT4-R-12345, and the trader password |
| 'No connection' | Ask live chat for your data centre's IP, check proxy and firewall settings |
| New order button inactive | You logged in with the investor password; use the trader password |
| Buy and Sell buttons inactive | Check the volume is between 0.01 and 100 lots |
| 'Trade context is busy' | Restart the terminal to clear queued requests |
| Only a few symbols visible | Right-click Market Watch and choose Show all |
If nothing works, LiteFinance's FAQ walks through clearing the DNS cache on Windows with ipconfig commands.
Server time
LiteFinance's terminal time is GMT+3 from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October, and GMT+2 the rest of the year. Forex quotes run from 00:05 on Monday to 23:59:59 on Friday in that time. Our LiteFinance fees guide covers swap timing.
Which platform should you use?
- Expert Advisors: MT4 or MT5.
- cBots and a modern interface: cTrader on ECN.
- Copy trading and quick access: the web terminal or app.
- Cent accounts: MT4 or MT5.
Mobile trading
LiteFinance offers its own apps for Android and iOS, alongside the MetaTrader and cTrader mobile apps. Its web terminal also adapts to phones in a browser. For quick checks and copy trading, the LiteFinance app is convenient; for detailed charting and EAs, desktop MetaTrader remains the better tool.
Managing passwords
LiteFinance uses a Client Profile password for the website and a trader password for each trading account. You can set a new trader password in the Metatrader section without knowing the old one. An investor password gives view-only access to an account, which is useful for sharing results without giving trading control.
Choosing between MT4 and MT5
MT4 has the largest library of Expert Advisors and indicators, while MT5 offers more timeframes, more order types and a faster tester. LiteFinance's default ECN account runs on MT5, which suits most new traders. If you rely on an older MT4-only EA, open an MT4 account alongside it in the same Client Profile.
Trading from the web terminal
In the Client Profile, switch to real trading mode, open the Trade section and pick a market tab: currencies, crypto, commodities, NYSE or NASDAQ stocks, EU stocks or indices. Click an instrument to open its chart, use the order panel on the right to buy or sell, and manage open positions in the Portfolio panel below.
The web terminal suits quick trades and copy trading. For automated strategies or detailed technical analysis, MetaTrader or cTrader on a desktop offers more.
Reversing a position
LiteFinance doesn't reverse positions automatically on MT4 or MT5. Its FAQ suggests opening an opposite position and closing the first, or opening one twice the size and using 'Multiple Close by Opposite Position', which avoids paying the spread twice.
Whichever platform you choose, try it on a demo first so the first live trade isn't also your first time using it.
All LiteFinance platforms are free to download and use with your account. You can run several at once, for example MT5 on a desktop and the app on your phone, with the same account.
LiteFinance covers the main platforms well. Most login problems in its FAQ come down to one thing: using the full account name or the wrong password. Use just the number and the trader password, and you'll rarely need support.
Kofi kept seeing 'Invalid account' in MT4 until he realised he was typing MT4-R-12345 instead of 12345. Once logged in, he set his EA running on MT4 and used the LiteFinance app to check positions during the day.
