LiteFinance Demo Account: Demo ECN, 45-Day Rule and Demo Contests
LiteFinance's demo ECN account runs on live quotes from its liquidity providers, with market execution and leverage up to 1:1000. Demos last 45 days, renewed each time you log in through the trading platform. Here is how to open, top up and use a LiteFinance demo, including its demo contests.
LiteFinance describes its demo account as a training account for practising and preparing for real trading, testing strategies or Expert Advisors under real market conditions with virtual money. Its demo ECN account uses real quotes from liquidity providers, market execution with no requotes, unlimited trade duration and access to all trading instruments. LiteFinance's FAQ says demo conditions match live ones: the same transaction procedure, the same quote rules and the same parameters for opening positions.
There is one rule worth knowing up front: demo accounts work for 45 days, and only logging in through a trading platform resets that clock.
| Type | Demo ECN |
|---|---|
| Platforms | MT4, MT5 |
| Leverage | Up to 1:1000 |
| Lifespan | 45 days, reset by platform login |
| Top up | Trade, then Deposit, in demo mode |
| Contests | Demo contests with prizes |
Demo mode vs demo trading
LiteFinance uses two similar terms. 'Demo mode' lets anyone explore the Client Profile and copy trading platform without registering, but nothing is saved and most options are off. 'Demo trading' is for registered clients: you switch to it from the menu under your name and trade demo accounts with full features. Switching back to real trading shows only real accounts.
How to open a demo
- Log in to the Client Profile.
- Click your name at the top and enable demo trading mode.
- Open the Metatrader section and click Open account.
- Choose the platform and settings, then use the login details LiteFinance emails you.
The 45-day rule
Every LiteFinance demo account works for 45 days. The counter resets each time you log in to the demo through MT4 or MT5. Logging in through the web terminal in the Client Profile doesn't reset it, and neither do balance changes or trades. If you practise mainly in the web terminal, open MetaTrader at least once every few weeks to keep the demo alive.
Topping up and passwords
To add virtual money to a demo created through the Client Profile, enable demo mode, open the Trade section, click Deposit at the bottom right, enter an amount in dollars and confirm. You can reset the trader's password in the Metatrader section without knowing the old one. Demos opened directly inside a trading terminal can't have their passwords recovered; open a new one instead.

Figures from LiteFinance's demo account page. The page lists demo commission from $0.5 per lot, while its real ECN account table shows $5 per lot on major pairs, so check costs on a live account before relying on demo results.
Demo contests
LiteFinance runs demo contests, such as 'Best of the best' with prizes of up to $4,000. They let you compete on virtual money for real prizes, though they reward high returns, which encourages bigger risks than you'd take with your own money. Treat them as a game, not a training plan. Our LiteFinance promotions page covers current offers.
Using the demo well
- Set the demo balance to the amount you plan to deposit.
- Trade the same instruments and sizes you will use live.
- Keep a journal of every trade and your reasons.
- Practise in MetaTrader at least weekly to keep the account active.
Testing Expert Advisors
LiteFinance suggests the demo for testing Expert Advisors under real market conditions. Run an EA on a demo first to see how often it trades, how it handles news and how deep its drawdowns go. Then move it to a small live account, such as Cent where available, before trusting it with larger sums.
If you'll eventually run it around the clock, plan for a VPS; demo results from a laptop that sleeps overnight won't match a live strategy running 24/5.
From demo to live
Before moving to a real account, check that you can place, modify and close every order type you use, that your results came from following written rules, and that your planned deposit matches the balance you practised with. Then start with the smallest sizes your account allows.
Demo and copy trading
LiteFinance lists copy trading as available on its demo ECN account. That lets you see how copying works, including copy types and copy stops, before risking money. Treat demo copy results with care, though: they don't show how you'll feel when a copied trader's bad week hits real money.
Choosing MT4 or MT5 for your demo
If you plan to use Expert Advisors written for MT4, open an MT4 demo; otherwise MT5 is the default for LiteFinance's ECN accounts and offers more timeframes and order types. Practise on the platform you'll use live, so nothing is new on your first real trade.
A demo is free and unlimited in number, so open a fresh one whenever you want to test a new idea without the clutter of old trades.
Demo results only mean something if you trade the demo as you will trade live. Match the balance, instruments and position sizes, and treat every demo loss as if it were real.
LiteFinance's 45-day demo is easy to lose if you only use the web terminal. Log in through MT4 or MT5 regularly, and treat the demo commission as a rough guide rather than your real cost.
Aisyah practised on a LiteFinance demo ECN account through the web terminal and was surprised when it expired after 45 days. She opened a new demo, logged in through MT5 every week, and kept her balance at $500 to match her planned deposit.
