IC Markets App: Trading, Funding and Support on Your Phone
IC's own mobile app lets you trade, deposit, withdraw, upload documents and chat with support from one place, on Android and iOS. IC also offers MetaTrader, cTrader, TradingView and IC Social apps. Here is which to use and what each can't do.
IC Markets has its own mobile app, the IC app, on Android and iOS. According to IC, it lets you trade CFDs, fund your account and transfer between accounts, withdraw, upload and verify documents, follow the economic calendar, monitor balance, equity and margin, and chat with 24/7 support. Alongside it, IC offers the mobile versions of MetaTrader 4 and 5, cTrader and TradingView, plus the IC Social app for copy trading.
Most traders end up using two apps: IC's own app for account admin and money, and the platform app they trade on. Each has its own job, and matching the job to the app saves time and a few mistakes.

|---|---|
| Account tasks | Deposits, withdrawals, transfers, document upload |
| Support | Live chat, 24/7, multilingual |
| Markets | Forex, commodities, indices, stocks, futures, bonds, crypto |

Being able to finish verification from your phone is handy for new clients: photograph your ID and a recent proof of address and upload them straight away. Our account opening guide lists what IC accepts.
The platform apps: MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView
IC offers the native mobile versions of each of its platforms. They connect to the trading account you opened for that platform, since each IC account is tied to one platform.
| App | Use it for | Limits on mobile |
|---|---|---|
| MetaTrader 4 / 5 | Trading your MT accounts, charts, order management | No expert advisors or custom indicators |
| cTrader | Trading your cTrader Raw account, detailed order control | Automation runs on desktop or a VPS |
| TradingView | Charting and trading the cTrader Raw account connected to it | Needs the cTrader Raw account |
| IC Social | Copy trading and trading communities on MT4 | Needs a live MT4 account |
IC's Help Centre confirms that expert advisors and custom indicators can't be installed on the MetaTrader mobile apps. If you run a robot, keep it on a desktop or a VPS and use the phone only to monitor it. Our platforms guide compares the desktop versions.
Setting up for mobile trading
- Install the IC app from Google Play or the App Store, searching for IC's official listing, and log in with your Client Area details.
- Turn on two-factor authentication in the Client Area and save your backup codes.
- Install the platform app you trade on and log in with that trading account's number, password and server.
- Set up price alerts or notifications in your platform app so you don't need to watch charts all day.
Fake trading apps copy real brokers' names and logos. Only download IC's apps through the links on ic.com or the official store listings, and never enter your login into an app someone sends you. Check a suspicious name against our scam broker list.
Trading on a phone: habits that help
- Decide entries and stops on a larger screen, and use the phone to manage trades you already planned.
- Double-check lot size before tapping buy or sell; small screens make extra zeros easy to miss.
- Keep leverage low so a mistyped order can't wipe out the account.
- Use a secure connection; avoid public Wi-Fi for logins and payments.
Keeping your phone and account secure
Your phone now holds the keys to your money, so treat it that way. Turn on two-factor authentication in the Client Area, using an authenticator app or phone verification, and generate backup codes: each set usually holds 10 single-use codes for when your usual method isn't available. Lock the phone with a PIN or biometrics, and don't save your trading password in a notes app.
If you want someone to see your account without being able to trade it, such as a mentor, give them a MetaTrader investor password, which is read-only. If you think your account has been accessed by someone else, IC's advice is to change your platform and Client Area passwords immediately and contact support.
If the app freezes
IC's Help Centre says mobile platforms can freeze when a lot of data reaches the app at once, such as during major news, and recommends a strong Wi-Fi or 4G connection. Close charts and apps you aren't using, and don't rely on a phone to manage a position through a big release; set your stop loss and take profit in advance instead.
A checklist before any mobile trade
- Confirm which account you are in: demo and live look almost identical on a small screen.
- Read the lot size twice. 0.10 and 1.00 are one tap apart.
- Set the stop loss and take profit on the order ticket, not afterwards.
- Look at the spread before you tap; it widens around news and the rollover.
- Check free margin after the trade opens, so one position doesn't leave the account exposed.
None of these steps takes more than a few seconds, and together they prevent the most common mobile mistakes. If you often trade on the move, practise the routine on a demo account first.
A phone is excellent for checking positions, moving stops and handling deposits, and poor for analysis. The traders who do best on mobile use it to follow a plan made at a desk, not to invent one on the bus.
Paula used the IC app to verify her account on her lunch break: she photographed her ID and a bank statement, uploaded both, and was approved the same afternoon. She now plans trades on her laptop in the evening, manages them from the MT5 app during the day, and makes withdrawals from the IC app.
