IC Markets Raw Trader Plus: Commission Rebates for Active Traders
Raw Trader Plus pays active IC traders a rebate of $1.50 to $2.50 per lot on forex and metals, credited daily and withdrawable. You need at least 100 closed lots a month, and clients linked to an introducing broker can't join. Here are the full rules.
Raw Trader Plus is IC Markets' rebate programme for high-volume traders. Members get part of their trading commission back: $1.50 per lot once they close 100 lots of forex and metals in a calendar month, rising to $2.25 and then $2.50 per lot at higher volumes. IC credits the rebates automatically and daily, in the account's currency, and they can be traded with or withdrawn.
The programme is run by Raw Trading Ltd, IC's global company, and its terms are specific. Only forex and metals trades count, only on Standard or Raw Spread accounts, and not for clients linked to an introducing broker. Here is how it works in practice.
| Who runs it | Raw Trading Ltd (IC's global company) |
|---|---|
| Eligible accounts | Raw Spread and Standard |
| Eligible markets | Forex and metals (gold, silver, platinum, palladium) |
| Tiers | $1.50 / $2.25 / $2.50 per lot |
| Paid | Daily, automatically, in the account currency |
| How to join | Email [email protected] |
Rebate tiers
IC sets the tiers by closed lots of forex and metals in a calendar month, on MetaTrader 4 and 5. For cTrader, IC asks you to contact its client relations team for the tiers.
| Tier | Closed lots a month (FX and metals) | Rebate per lot |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 100 or more | $1.50 |
| 2 | Above 1,000 | $2.25 |
| 3 | 2,000 or more | $2.50 |
According to IC's terms, the tiers work like tax bands: each band's rate applies to the lots within it. IC's own example for 2,500 closed lots in a month pays $1.50 on roughly the first 1,000 lots, $2.25 on the next 1,000 and $2.50 on the last 500, a total of about $5,000.
A worked example
IC's terms include a simple case. A member trades 150 lots of forex in February. On the day the 100th lot closes, the system credits $150 (100 × $1.50) to the account, then $1.50 for each further lot that month. By the end of February the rebate is $225.
In cost terms, that trader pays $7 per round-turn lot on a Raw Spread USD account and gets $1.50 back, so the effective commission is $5.50. At tier 3 the effective rate falls to $4.50 on the lots in that band.
| Monthly volume | Raw commission ($7 RT) | Approximate rebate | Net commission |
|---|---|---|---|
| 150 lots | $1,050 | $225 | $825 |
| 1,500 lots | $10,500 | About $2,625 | About $7,875 |
| 2,500 lots | $17,500 | About $5,000 | About $12,500 |
Rebates are approximate for the higher tiers because of how the bands are counted; the figures follow IC's own example. Our spreads guide covers the commission in other account currencies.
Raw Trader Plus vs Raw Pro
IC's newer Raw Pro account, in early access, charges $3 per round turn with a $5,000 minimum deposit, and Raw Pro+ charges $2 with a $100,000 minimum. Both are cheaper per lot than a rebated Raw Spread account at any Raw Trader Plus tier. IC's terms list only Raw Spread and Standard accounts as eligible for rebates, so check with client relations before assuming you can combine the two. Our account types guide compares the accounts.
The conditions that matter
- Membership first. You must email [email protected] and be confirmed as a member. Only volume traded from the calendar day after that confirmation counts.
- Forex and metals only. Indices and commodities don't earn rebates under the programme.
- No introducing broker. Clients linked to an IB aren't eligible.
- Keep trading. Membership isn't lost in a quiet month, but IC expects activity within a three-month period and will contact you before cancelling.
- IC can change it. The terms let IC change or cancel the programme, or exclude a member, at any time.
- Local law. The programme isn't available where taking part would break local rules.
Other Raw Trader Plus benefits
IC lists two extras for members: access to its VPS hosting for automated strategies, and a dedicated client relations team. The VPS is valuable for scalpers and EA traders who need a stable, low-latency connection; our IC Markets free VPS guide covers the separate volume-based VPS offer.
Never trade more just to reach a rebate tier. At $1.50 a lot, the rebate is small compared with the losses that overtrading can cause. Let your normal volume decide whether the programme is worth joining.
Is it worth joining?
If you already close well over 100 lots of forex or gold a month on a Raw Spread account and aren't linked to an introducing broker, yes: it is money back for trading you do anyway. Below 100 lots it pays nothing. Traders with $5,000 or more should also compare it with Raw Pro. Our scalping guide covers the other costs that matter to active traders.
How and when rebates are paid
Once you are a member, IC tracks your closed lots each calendar month. The rebate starts when you reach the tier threshold and is credited daily and automatically from then on. It is paid in each trading account's base currency, and if you trade on several accounts, the rebate goes to the accounts where the volume was traded.
Timing matters when you join. IC's terms say only volume from the calendar day after your membership is confirmed counts; its own example has a trader accepted on 25 January whose eligible volume starts from 1 February. Trades before that date don't earn rebates, so join before a busy month rather than during it. IC also notes that a rebate isn't yours until it has been credited to your account.
Tracking your volume
Only closed lots count towards a tier, and the count starts again each calendar month. Open positions don't count until they close, so a big position held over the month end counts in the month you close it. Your account statements, generated from the platform or the Client Area, show your closed volume; check them in the last week of a month if you are close to a threshold, but never open trades just to reach it.
Rebates reward volume, not results. Work out your cost per lot after the rebate, compare it with Raw Pro and with other brokers, and make sure the programme fits the way you already trade.
Gabriel trades about 400 lots of EUR/USD and gold a month on an IC Raw Spread account. After joining Raw Trader Plus through client relations, he received $1.50 back per lot from the 100th lot each month, about $600, credited daily. He withdraws the rebates quarterly and treats them as a discount, not income.
