IC Markets Minimum Deposit: What You Need to Start in 2026
IC's global company has no minimum deposit on its Standard, Raw Spread and cTrader accounts. Australian clients need $200, and the new Raw Pro accounts start at $5,000. Here is what a sensible first deposit looks like.
There is no minimum deposit on the three main accounts at IC Markets, which now trades simply as IC. Its Help Centre says you can open a trading account "without any minimum deposit requirement", and the account overview on ic.com lists $0 against Standard, Raw Spread and the cTrader Raw Spread account. Two newer accounts, Raw Pro and Raw Pro+, do have entry points: $5,000 and $100,000.
There is one exception that catches people out. The $0 figure belongs to Raw Trading Ltd, the Seychelles company that serves most of the world. Clients of IC's Australian company, International Capital Markets Pty Ltd, need at least $200. Which one you join depends on where you live, so check the company named in your client agreement before you plan around a number.
| Standard, Raw Spread, cTrader Raw | $0 minimum (global company) |
|---|---|
| Raw Pro | $5,000 (early access) |
| Raw Pro+ | $100,000 (early access) |
| Australian company (ASIC) | $200 minimum |
| Deposit fees charged by IC | None; your bank may charge |
| Base currencies | 10: USD, AUD, EUR, GBP, SGD, NZD, JPY, CHF, HKD, CAD |
IC Markets minimum deposit by account type
Five account types sit on IC's overview page. Three are open to anyone with no deposit threshold; the two Raw Pro tiers are aimed at larger balances and pay for the entry fee with a lower commission.
| Account | Platforms | Minimum deposit | Commission per lot, per side | Spreads from |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | MT4, MT5 | $0 | None (built into the spread) | 0.8 pips |
| Raw Spread | MT4, MT5 | $0 | $3.50 | 0.0 pips |
| Raw Spread (cTrader) | cTrader, TradingView | $0 | $3 per $100,000 traded | 0.0 pips |
| Raw Pro | MT4, MT5 | $5,000 | $1.50 | 0.0 pips |
| Raw Pro+ | MT4, MT5 | $100,000 | $1.00 | 0.0 pips |
A missing minimum doesn't make every account equal for a small balance. On the Standard account you pay through a wider spread and nothing else. Raw Spread charges $3.50 each way per standard lot, which falls to $0.035 per side on a 0.01 micro lot, so it works fine for small trades too. Our IC Markets account types guide compares the costs line by line.
Minimum deposit by IC company
IC runs five licensed companies, and each sets its own rules. The global website at ic.com belongs to Raw Trading Ltd, licensed by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority (licence SD018). That company takes most international clients, and it is the one with the $0 minimum.
| Company | Regulator | Minimum deposit |
|---|---|---|
| Raw Trading Ltd (IC, IC Markets Global) | FSA Seychelles, SD018 | $0 on Standard, Raw Spread and cTrader |
| International Capital Markets Pty Ltd | ASIC, AFSL 335692 | $200 |
| IC Markets (EU) Ltd | CySEC, 362/18 | Check the EU site before you apply |
| IC Markets Ltd | SCB Bahamas, SIA-F214 | Check the Bahamas site before you apply |
| IC Markets (KE) Ltd | CMA Kenya, 199 | Check the Kenyan site before you apply |
Residents of the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Iran and North Korea can't open an account with Raw Trading Ltd at all, according to its own website. Our guide to IC Markets regulation and safety explains what each licence means for your protection.
How much should you deposit with IC Markets?
Zero is the rule, not a plan. The useful question is how much you need to trade the size you intend while risking only a small slice of the account on each position. A common rule of thumb among careful traders is to risk no more than 1% to 2% of the balance on any single trade.
Some round numbers make this concrete. One micro lot (0.01) of EUR/USD is 1,000 euros, and each pip is worth about $0.10. With a 20-pip stop loss, a losing micro-lot trade costs about $2. At a 1% risk limit, that trade needs an account of roughly $200. A $50 deposit can still place micro lots, but a single 20-pip loss would take 4% of it.
| Deposit | 1% risk per trade | Position with a 20-pip stop | What it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| $50 | $0.50 | Too small for a 0.01 lot at 1% risk | Testing deposits, withdrawals and the platform |
| $200 | $2 | 0.01 lot | Learning with real money, one pair at a time |
| $1,000 | $10 | 0.05 lots | Regular trading on a few pairs |
| $5,000 | $50 | 0.25 lots | Raw Pro becomes an option |
Our position size calculator runs the same sums for any pair and stop distance, and the margin calculator shows how much of the balance a position ties up.

Deposit methods, fees and processing times
IC lists more than 15 funding options on its funding page. It charges no deposit fees of its own, though your bank or card issuer may. Deposits must come from an account in your own name; payments from third parties are refused, and joint accounts are accepted only if you are one of the holders.

Pick your base currency before you deposit
Your account can be held in any of 10 currencies: USD, AUD, EUR, GBP, SGD, NZD, JPY, CHF, HKD or CAD. If you deposit in one currency into an account held in another, a conversion takes place, and the rate your bank or card uses is often worse than the market rate. Opening the account in the currency you fund with, where it is on the list, avoids that loss on the way in and again on the way out.
Commission on Raw Spread accounts is set per currency too. A GBP account pays £2.75 per lot per side and a EUR account €3.25, against $3.50 on a USD account, according to IC's spreads page.
Does the deposit bonus change the minimum?
IC's global company runs a deposit bonus: 100% on the first deposit, then 50% on later ones, up to a total of $25,000. The bonus is trading credit, not cash. You can't withdraw it, part of it is removed when you withdraw funds, and eligibility depends on where you live. Be aware that IC's own Help Centre, on both its global and Australian sites, still says "IC does not offer any deposit bonuses", which contradicts the bonus page. Check the offer in your Client Area before you count on it. Our IC Markets deposit bonus page covers the full terms.
A bonus makes the account look larger than the money you can lose. Size your trades on your own deposit, not the deposit plus credit.
A $0 minimum removes a barrier, but it also removes a guardrail. Decide your first deposit from the risk you can take per trade, then check the company on your agreement. Those two steps matter more than any headline number.
Tomás opened an IC Standard account in USD with $100, the most he was willing to lose while learning. He placed 0.01-lot trades on EUR/USD with 25-pip stops, so each loss cost about $2.50. After four weeks he withdrew $40 to his card to test the process, which arrived within the card timeline IC quotes, and only then added $400. His advice to friends: treat the first deposit as tuition, not capital.
Every figure here comes from IC's own website and Help Centre as of October 2026. IC can change account terms at any time, so confirm the numbers in your Client Area before you fund.
Frequently asked
What is the IC Markets minimum deposit?
IC's global company, Raw Trading Ltd, has no minimum deposit on its Standard, Raw Spread and cTrader Raw Spread accounts. Raw Pro needs $5,000 and Raw Pro+ $100,000. Clients of IC's Australian company need at least $200. Check which IC company your client agreement names.
Can I open an IC Markets account with $10?
Yes, with the global company there is no minimum, so $10 is allowed. It is enough to test a deposit and a withdrawal, but too small to trade a 0.01 lot with a sensible stop loss at 1% risk. Around $200 gives a micro-lot trader room to follow a normal risk rule.
Does IC Markets charge deposit fees?
IC does not charge any fees for deposits or withdrawals. Your bank, card issuer or e-wallet may charge its own fees, and international wires can carry intermediary charges. Converting between currencies can also cost money, so hold the account in the currency you deposit if you can.
Which IC Markets account has no minimum deposit?
Standard, Raw Spread (MetaTrader) and Raw Spread (cTrader and TradingView) all have a $0 minimum at IC's global company. Raw Pro and Raw Pro+ are the only accounts with published minimums, of $5,000 and $100,000.
How fast does an IC Markets deposit arrive?
Cards, PayPal, Neteller, Skrill and crypto are instant, though IC says some deposits can take up to an hour. Wire transfers take 2 to 5 business days, and Rapidpay and Klarna up to 2 business days.
Can someone else fund my IC Markets account?
No. IC does not accept third-party payments. Every deposit must come from a bank account, card or wallet in your name. A joint account or card is accepted only if you, the account holder, are one of its owners.
