Standard lots required to withdraw the bonus.

Elev8's FAQ says you can claim a 50% deposit bonus on each deposit, with bigger bonuses during holidays and other limited-time events. Deposit $100 and you can add $50 of bonus funds. The bonus counts as part of your equity and free margin, so it supports open positions.

It isn't yours to withdraw until you complete a trading volume requirement. Elev8 gives the formula: the bonus amount divided by two, in standard lots. A $50 bonus needs 25 standard lots. The bonus is cancelled if your equity falls below the bonus amount, or if your own funds fall below it after a withdrawal or transfer.

Elev8's own example is the $100 row. All others apply the same formula. Gold and Platinum status holders in the Rewards programme need to trade fewer lots, according to the FAQ. You can follow your progress and the remaining volume for each bonus on the Your Deposit Bonuses page in your profile.

What the volume really costs

Twenty-five standard lots is a large amount of trading for a $100 account. Each lot has a cost in spread. At an average of 0.9 pips on EUR/USD, one lot costs about $9, so 25 lots cost about $225. You would spend more than four times the bonus in spread to unlock it.

BonusLots requiredSpread cost at 0.9 pipsCost against bonus
$2512.5About $1134.5 times
$5025About $2254.5 times
$10050About $4504.5 times
$250125About $1,1254.5 times

The 0.9-pip spread is our assumption for illustration; Elev8's spreads start from 0.6 pips and float. Even at the 0.6 floor, 25 lots cost $150 against a $50 bonus. That isn't a trick. It is how every volume-based bonus works, and it means the bonus makes sense only as a by-product of trading you would do anyway.

Time is the other factor. At 0.05 lots a trade, 25 lots is 500 trades. A trader placing 40 trades a month would need a year. Anyone who speeds that up by trading larger is taking risks for the sake of the bonus, which is the wrong way round.

How the bonus supports margin

While active, bonus funds are shown as Bonus funds in Elev8Trader and as Credit in MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. They are part of your equity and free margin. A $100 deposit with a $50 bonus gives $150 of equity to support positions.

That is the real benefit. Extra equity means a higher margin level and more room before a stop out. For a trader who keeps position sizes unchanged, the bonus is a cushion that costs nothing as long as it lasts.

When the bonus is cancelled

TriggerWhat happens
Equity falls below the bonus amountBonus cancelled
Personal funds fall below the bonus after a withdrawal or internal transferBonus cancelled
You cancel it in your profileBonus removed

Look closely at the first trigger. You deposit $100 and take a $50 bonus, for $150 of equity. If losses bring equity down to $50, the bonus is cancelled. Your equity then drops from $50 to nothing in an instant, because the $50 that remained was the bonus.

StageOwn fundsBonusEquity
After deposit$100$50$150
After $60 of losses$40$50$90
After $100 of losses$0$50$50
Bonus cancelled$0$0$0

The cushion disappears at the moment you would need it most. A bonus doesn't protect your deposit; your deposit protects the bonus. Elev8 says as much when it tells clients they need enough funds to sustain their bonuses before completing them.

Open positions sized against bonus-inflated equity can be closed out when the bonus is cancelled. Size trades from your own funds only.

Withdrawals with an active bonus

A withdrawal that takes your personal funds below the bonus amount cancels the bonus. With $100 of your own money and a $50 bonus, withdrawing $60 leaves $40, which is under $50, and the bonus goes.

Check the numbers before each withdrawal. If you have open trades, remember that losing the bonus also cuts your equity. The Elev8 withdrawal guide explains the free margin rule that applies at the same time.

How to claim, and how to stack

  1. Make a deposit.
  2. Open your profile and find the bonus offered on that deposit.
  3. Activate it manually, or tick Apply further bonuses automatically in Settings.
  4. Track the remaining volume on the Your Deposit Bonuses page.

Elev8 recommends manual activation, because you can pick the bonuses you are able to afford. If you can't claim one, the likely reason is that your free margin doesn't exceed the bonus amount.

Several bonuses can run in sequence. You can claim a new one before finishing the last, and volume counts towards the first bonus claimed, then the next. Deposit bonuses apply to deposits only, never to internal transfers.

Rewards include exclusive trading conditions, subscriptions to financial sources and extras such as a business lounge pass at higher statuses. Higher levels may also bring priority transfers. The exact benefits are listed on the Rewards page in your profile, which is the reference to use.

Should you take the bonus?

  • Take it if you will trade the same sizes with or without it and want a margin cushion.
  • Skip it if extra equity would tempt you into bigger positions.
  • Avoid it if you withdraw often, since withdrawals can cancel it.
  • Ignore the idea of unlocking it for profit; the spread on the volume exceeds the bonus.

Regulators such as the FCA and EU authorities restrict trading bonuses for retail clients because of the incentives they create. Elev8 can offer one because its licences are offshore, as our Elev8 regulation guide explains. Leverage adds to the effect, and the leverage guide shows why.

Keep two numbers in your journal: your own funds and your equity. Calculate every position from the first one.

Read the Deposit Bonus Terms and Conditions listed among Elev8's legal documents before you activate anything. The FAQ summarises the rules, and the terms are what bind you. Check them again if you join a limited-time offer, since event bonuses can carry their own conditions.

The detail traders miss is that the bonus vanishes when equity touches the bonus amount. It is margin support while you are doing well and gone when you are not. I treat it as temporary room, never as capital.

Illustrative case: Sari, 29, Semarang

Sari deposited $200 and activated a $100 bonus. She kept trading 0.02 lots as before. Four months and about 6 lots later, she wanted to withdraw $120. That would have left $80 of her own money, below the $100 bonus, so she withdrew $90 instead and kept the bonus active.
