Roboforex vs IUX

IUX is cheaper per trade. RoboForex wins on almost everything else: it bought compensation cover and insurance nobody made it buy, it gives free VPS and copy trading, and it pays out without the complaints. Both take $10. Here is the honest comparison.

Open RoboForex. Both brokers take $10, so price of entry does not separate them. IUX is cheaper per trade, at about 0.2 pips against 1.3, and that is a real advantage. RoboForex wins nearly everything else.
Neither is watched by a strict regulator. That makes the usual safety verdict unavailable, so here is a better test: what does a broker do when nobody is forcing it to do anything?

Protection nobody required. RoboForex voluntarily joined the Financial Commission, which can order it to repay a client up to €20,000, and carries €2.5m of insurance. Belize demanded neither. IUX has bought nothing comparable.

Getting paid. Traders keep reporting withdrawal delays at IUX. RoboForex does not have that reputation.

What you get for free. RoboForex gives you VPS hosting and copy trading at no cost. IUX offers neither.

Ignore IUX’s 1:3000 leverage and its $30 free credit. The first is a hazard sold as a feature, and the second comes with rules that mean trading far more than you expect.

Check these on each broker’s own site before you trust them. IUX lists its smallest deposit as $3, $10, $30 and $50 across different sites, and RoboForex quotes its raw commission differently across sources.

When Nobody Strict Is Watching

This is the heart of it, so read it before the features.

A regulator is the body that watches a broker and can punish it. Neither of these two has a strict one. RoboForex is registered in Belize. IUX leans on the FSCA in South Africa plus offshore registration in St Vincent. If either failed, no strong authority would be lining up to repay you.

So you cannot pick on regulation. You have to pick on something else, and here is the useful test: what did each broker do when nobody was making it do anything?

RoboForex voluntarily joined the Financial Commission. That is an independent body which can order a broker to compensate a client, with cover up to €20,000 per verified claim. It also carries €2.5 million in civil liability insurance. Belize required neither of those. RoboForex chose to pay for them. It keeps client money separate, offers negative balance protection, and has run under the same name since 2009 with no legal cloud over it.

IUX has bought nothing of the kind. It offers the standard minimum and nothing beyond it.

That is the whole comparison in one line. Two offshore brokers, and one arranged a way for you to be repaid while the other did not.

There is more, and it is worth knowing. You will find websites listing IUX as regulated by Australia’s ASIC. That claim is disputed, so check for your own country before believing it. IUX also has a recurring pattern of withdrawal complaints, and its published figures contradict each other across the web. Its own smallest deposit is quoted as $3, $10, $30 and $50 depending where you look, which tells you something about how carefully any of it is being checked.

Trading Costs

IUX wins this, and clearly.

IUX charges about 0.2 pips on EUR/USD with no commission. RoboForex’s commission-free Pro account starts at 1.3 pips. That is roughly six times cheaper on the account a beginner uses.

On raw accounts, the two are close. IUX charges about $3 a lot. RoboForex charges about $2 a lot, and its Prime account goes lower. So RoboForex takes the raw account and IUX takes the commission-free one.

That means the cheaper broker changes as you improve. A beginner trading commission-free is cheaper at IUX. Someone trading enough to justify a raw account is cheaper at RoboForex.

One caveat. IUX’s 0.2 pips is measured in calm conditions, and reports on how it behaves during news are mixed. Your real cost is what you pay when the market moves.

Neither charges you for leaving your account idle.

What You Get Free

This is where the gap opens up, and beginners rarely check it.

RoboForex gives you VPS hosting free. That is the always-on computer you need to run trading robots. IUX offers none at all, which rules it out if you plan to automate.

RoboForex gives you CopyFX free. You browse experienced traders and copy them automatically. IUX does not offer copy trading in any form.

RoboForex gives you a cent account. You can practise with real money in cent-sized trades. IUX has no equivalent.

Add it up and RoboForex hands you three genuinely useful things at no cost that IUX simply does not have. That is worth more than 1.1 pips to most beginners.

The usual warning on copy trading applies. Copying someone does not remove risk, it moves it. You can lose money following another trader exactly as fast as trading yourself.

What You Can Trade

RoboForex advertises over 12,000 markets. Read the catch.

Nearly all of them live inside R StocksTrader, its own platform, which is where the real shares and funds are. Stay on MT4 or MT5 and you get roughly a hundred markets, which is fewer than IUX offers.

So the 12,000 is real, but only if you leave MetaTrader. If you plan to stay on MetaTrader, IUX gives you slightly more to trade. That reverses the headline, and it is worth saying.

IUX is also MT5 only. RoboForex gives you MT4 as well, which matters if you have older tools or indicators.

Leverage

IUX offers 1:3000. RoboForex offers 1:2000.

Neither is a gift. Leverage grows your losses exactly as fast as your wins, and at these levels a small move the wrong way empties an account in seconds.

Notice that neither broker has a strict regulator, and both offer leverage no strict regulator would allow. Those two facts are connected, and the connection is not in your favour.

Use a small fraction of whatever you are offered.

Final Verdict

Take RoboForex. Both brokers take $10, so the entry price does not separate them, and that removes IUX’s usual argument. What is left is a broker that paid for compensation cover and insurance nobody required, has kept the same name for sixteen years, hands you VPS and copy trading free, and pays you out without the complaints.

IUX is cheaper per trade, and that is genuine. Six times cheaper commission-free is not nothing. If you close your trades daily, trade currencies only, and never want copy trading or robots, IUX will cost you less.

But weigh what you give up: no compensation scheme, no insurance, no copy trading, no VPS, no MT4, weekday-only support, a disputed regulation claim, and a recurring pattern of people struggling to get paid. That is a lot to trade for a spread.

And do not choose IUX for the 1:3000 leverage or the $30 free credit. The first is dangerous and the second comes with strings. Choose it because you want the cheapest spread and nothing else. That is the only honest reason.
