What the XM App does, according to XM.

The XM App is XM's own trading app for iPhone and Android, listed as "XM.COM" in the Apple App Store and Google Play. According to XM, you can use it to open and verify an account, trade every instrument XM offers, deposit, withdraw and move money between accounts, and chat with its Client Experience team. It works with both MT4 and MT5 accounts, and everything you do in it is reflected in MetaTrader.

For most traders it replaces two or three separate apps: the account portal, the trading platform and the support chat. MetaTrader still has the edge for automated trading and custom indicators.

TradingView charts, watchlists and alerts

XM has built TradingView charts into the app, so you can switch from a simple price view to advanced charting and place trades from the chart itself. Watchlists group the instruments you follow, and personalised alerts notify you about price moves and about your stop loss and take profit. XM also adds market insights: real-time updates, sentiment and daily price changes.

XM AI

The app includes XM AI, an assistant you can ask about the markets from beside your chart. XM says it gives market reviews, summaries of any market, and news, analysis and trends through chat. Treat it as a research shortcut, not advice: it can summarise what is happening, but it doesn't know your account, your risk limits or your plan.

An AI summary is not a trade signal. Check any idea against the chart and your own rules before you act on it.

Opening and verifying an account in the app

  1. Download the app by searching XM.COM in the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Follow the account opening steps and choose MT4 or MT5.
  3. Upload your proof of identity and proof of residency to verify.
  4. Deposit, and start trading or open a demo account first.

Existing clients with a verified MT4 or MT5 account can open extra accounts in the app without sending documents again. Our XM account opening guide explains which documents XM accepts.

Funding from your phone

Deposits, withdrawals and internal transfers all run from the app's Funding section. The exchange rate is shown before you confirm a deposit or withdrawal in another currency, and pending withdrawals can be cancelled from Transaction History until they are processed. XM says withdrawals are processed instantly by its automated back office, with cards and bank wires usually taking 2 to 5 business days to arrive. Our XM withdrawal guide covers the rules.

Many clients use both: the XM App for money, alerts and quick trades, and MetaTrader on a computer for detailed analysis or robots. Trades appear in both.

Keeping your account safe on mobile

  • Install only the official XM.COM app from the Apple or Google store.
  • Lock your phone and don't store passwords in notes.
  • If you lose access to your registered email and can't complete the email login check, contact XM support.
  • Tell support straight away if you notice trades or withdrawal requests you didn't make.

Useful alerts to set

  • A price alert a little before your planned entry, so you're at the screen when it matters.
  • Stop loss and take profit alerts, so you know when a trade has closed.
  • Alerts on instruments you hold over a weekend or news event.

Cancelling a withdrawal in the app

Changed your mind? XM lets you cancel a withdrawal while it is still pending: open Funding, then Transaction History, then Pending Withdrawals, and tap Cancel. Once a withdrawal is processed it can't be cancelled. Internal transfers between your own accounts run from the same Funding section and are instant between verified accounts, converted at XM's live rate if the currencies differ.

If you can't log in

XM's Help Center suggests checking that your account ID, password and server exactly match the details from registration, checking your connection, and restarting or reinstalling the app. If you've lost access to your registered email and can't complete the email login check, contact support; still stuck, email [email protected].

App or WebTrader?

On a computer where you can't install anything, XM's WebTrader runs in the browser with your MT5 login. The XM App is the better choice on a phone, because it adds funding, verification and support in one place. Both show the same positions as your MetaTrader platform.

The XM App is the easiest way to run an XM account, but plan trades where you can see the whole chart. Use the phone for alerts, stops and funding, and keep big decisions for a bigger screen.

Illustrative case: Grace, 27, Kampala

Grace verified her XM account in the app on a Sunday, deposited $50 and set alerts on gold. When an alert fired during a meeting, she moved her stop loss to break-even from the app rather than trading on impulse. She now plans trades on her laptop at night and manages them from her phone.
