Valutrades Denies It’s Exiting the Market After Freezing New Sign-Ups

Valutrades has denied rumors that it is exiting the market, after the FCA-regulated broker paused new client onboarding and stopped serving some client segments. Visitors to both its UK site and the Seychelles-regulated international site have seen “New Account Applications are Closed” messages in recent weeks, which is what set off the speculation in the first place.

CEO Graeme Watkins addressed it directly: “I can confirm we are not exiting the global market but are making some changes to the business.” The company describes the pause as part of a strategic review of its client portfolio rather than a wind-down.

The numbers behind the review

Valutrades has had a difficult couple of years financially. The firm posted cumulative losses of more than 6 million pounds across 2023 and 2024, and shareholders had to inject a further 600,000 pounds in March 2026 to shore up the balance sheet. Valutrades Limited’s 2025 net loss came in at 671,705 pounds, an improvement on the 2.59 million pound loss the year before, but still a loss.

Read against that backdrop, pausing onboarding while a broker is unprofitable and narrowing its client base looks less like a mystery and more like a company trying to control who it takes on while it works through a turnaround. That is a meaningfully different story from an exit, but it is also not nothing, and existing clients are the ones with the most reason to keep an eye on how the review plays out. It is the kind of situation our broker review methodology is built to flag before, not after, it becomes a bigger problem.

Trader’s takeaway: if you already hold funds with Valutrades, treat this as watch, don’t panic. FCA regulation requires client money to be held separately from company funds, but it is still worth confirming your account is fully funded and that withdrawals are processing normally while the review plays out, and holding off on adding fresh capital until the review reaches a clear outcome.
