CFDs are complex instruments and carry a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. A bonus or reward does not reduce that risk. Offers change often and vary by country and broker entity; confirm the live terms on the broker's site. Some links are affiliate links; they never change which offers we list or how we describe them.
Each guide compares every offer of that type, explains the terms and shows where it is allowed.
A forex promotion is a broker's incentive to open or keep an account: extra credit matched to a deposit, a small amount of free credit, prize money from a contest, money back on each trade, a free server for automated strategies, or education such as courses and webinars.
None of it is a gift. Every offer comes with conditions, and those conditions decide whether it is worth anything. This page lists the offers we track and explains how to read the small print before you commit.
A quick way to size up the common offers. Figures are typical ranges; exact terms vary by broker and country.
| Promotion type | Typical size | Deposit needed? | Can you withdraw it? | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No-deposit bonus | $10 to $50, sometimes more | No | Profits only, after a volume target | Trying live trading for the first time |
| Welcome bonus | A fixed amount or a first-deposit match | Usually | Profits only | New account holders |
| Deposit match | 20% to 100% of a deposit, capped | Yes | Profits only | Traders funding an account anyway |
| Cashback or rebate | A fixed amount per lot traded | Yes | Yes, paid as cash | Active traders and scalpers |
| Loyalty programme | Points or rebates by volume tier | Yes | Cash rewards, yes | Regular, higher-volume traders |
| Trading contest | A prize pool shared by the winners | Demo: no; live: sometimes | Prize money, yes | Competitive traders |
| Referral reward | A fixed amount per funded friend | Yes (your friend) | Usually, yes | Traders with a network |
Strict regulators protect retail clients partly by banning incentives, which is why most offers run through brokers' entities outside Europe, the UK and Australia.
| Region | Regulator | Position on bonuses |
|---|---|---|
| European Union | ESMA and national regulators | Bonuses and other incentives on CFDs are banned for retail clients. |
| United Kingdom | FCA | Banned for retail CFD and spread-betting clients. |
| Australia | ASIC | Banned for retail clients since March 2021. |
| United States | CFTC and NFA | Deposit bonuses are effectively unavailable to US retail forex clients. |
| Offshore entities | FSA Seychelles, VFSC, FSC Mauritius and others | Where most bonuses are offered, including by brands with top-tier licences elsewhere. |
Check your own country on our forex legality map.
Check the broker first, then judge the offer on these points.
Look up the licence of the company you would sign with on the regulator's own register. A regulated broker has rules to follow and client money to segregate.
Divide the bonus by the lots you must trade to unlock it. A $50 bonus needing 5 lots is far more reachable than $100 needing 100.
A 100% match capped at $500 adds $500 on a $1,000 deposit and the same on $5,000, so deposit to the cap, not beyond it.
Many offers exclude certain countries, account types or clients of the broker's stricter entities.
Bonus credit may only work on some pairs, and can exclude gold, indices or crypto.
A 7-day window with a 20-lot target suits almost nobody. Look for 30 to 90 days.
The trading volume needed before bonus profits can be withdrawn. The single term that matters most.
Miss the target in time and the bonus, and often the profit made with it, is removed.
The bonus sits in the account as trading credit; only the profit on top can be withdrawn.
Some brokers remove the bonus in proportion to a withdrawal; others cancel it entirely.
Most offers allow one claim per person, household or IP address. Extra accounts get closed.
Every percentage match stops at a ceiling. Check it before choosing how much to deposit.
No shortcuts: the habits that keep a small account alive long enough to grow.
Stick to 0.01-lot trades and risk no more than 1% to 2% of the account on any trade, a dollar or two on $100. A standard lot moves about $10 per pip on EUR/USD and can empty a small account in minutes.
A 5% to 10% month on $100 is only $5 to $10. The point is building the habit of trading a plan, not the figure.
As the balance grows, position sizes grow with it. At a steady 8% a month, $100 becomes about $250 in a year with no extra deposits, though real results are never that steady.
A small no-deposit bonus makes a useful separate account for trying new ideas without risking the main balance.
Model it yourself with the compounding calculator and size each trade with the position size calculator.
Oversized matches usually come with impossible volume targets or from firms with no real licence.
Legitimate terms lock the bonus, never your money.
"Today only" offers pushed by phone or messaging apps are a classic scam tactic.
A real promotion has published terms on the broker's own site. If you cannot find them, do not claim it.

Brokers can submit bonuses, contests and other offers for listing. Every listing goes through the same checks as our reviews, carries a clear sponsored label where applicable, and must meet our advertising guidelines.
There is no single best bonus. If you are new to live trading, a no-deposit bonus from a regulated broker lets you try real markets without funding an account. If you are funding an account anyway, a deposit match can stretch your capital, as long as the volume target is realistic.
You open and verify an account and the broker credits a small amount of trading funds without a deposit. Once you trade a set volume within a time limit, you can withdraw the profit, but not the bonus itself.
Among the offers we list, HFM runs a 100% deposit bonus up to $50,000 and IC Markets a 100% first-deposit bonus up to $1,000, both through offshore entities. Offers change often, so check the live terms.
No. Exness does not offer deposit or no-deposit bonuses; it competes on spreads and fast withdrawals and offers a free demo account.
No. Retail bonuses are banned in the UK, the EU and Australia, and are effectively unavailable in the US. Most offers are open only through brokers' offshore entities in eligible countries.
The bonus is trading credit, not cash. You can withdraw the profit made with it only after meeting a volume requirement within a set time, and withdrawals may cut the bonus.
No. Even a no-deposit bonus requires identity checks and a volume target before profits can be withdrawn. A bonus is a way to learn or lower costs, not a guaranteed profit.
Either a flat $100 credit, the same whatever you deposit, or a 100% match on a $100 deposit. Check which one the terms describe.
Each offer card shows the date its page was last updated. We recheck offers when brokers change their terms, and at least every quarter.
